SPEARHEADs get back to their roots in a new AO

SPEARHEADs get back to their roots in a new AO

(6) SPEARHEADs woke up to the sound of rain on their windows, but they still made it out of the fartsack and over to our new Tuesday AO.  And it was worth it!

COT

Thanks to everyone for braving the weather this morning to post.  It turned out that it did not rain or storm at all during the workout, so it was perfect!

I wanted this workout to be much more fast paced, but the lack of a decent hardwood log in the general area of point 10 made for a difficult time keeping the workout moving as we searched.  Like anything – this workout will get better with time.  We need to learn the area and experiment a little more.

This new area has so many different places to go and things to do.  The greenway goes all the way up to Harris Blvd.  The Cottonwood Nature Trails have a lot of ground to cover.  There is a cross country 5K course on the other side of the greenway at McAlpine Park.  The possibilities are endless!

Gulfstream made the trip down from Highlands for a little SPEARHEAD recon.  He and Winnebago are launching SPEARHEAD Highlands tomorrow morning at Highland Creek Elementary – 0445.  It sounds like they have some pretty cool stuff in store, so don’t miss that!

Thanks again for letting me lead, I look forward to next Tuesday!

Great job everyone, these complexes are not easy, even when a few reps are all you are doing.
And clearly everyone has been practicing the deck squats – that will definitely become a staple of YHC.
Thanks for the opportunity to lead this great group of SOBs this morning. It is an honor.

Moleskin:

So due to a wicked case of plantar fasciitis that YHC that has been battling for 10 months, YHC’s workouts of late have had minimal running. The usual suicides that YHC normally loves to do in a workout have been replaced by lots of burpees. YHC has never been fast (if form is good) in the burp department, so what better way to improve than to do more of them! Aye

But today was somewhat different. With the heel feeling somewhat better, YHC decided to add a little more running into the mix. It felt good to stretch out the legs a bit.

Good job this morning by all. A special welcome to Water Seal who posted for his 2nd F3 workout today. Water Seal apparently was not EH’d by anyone but had simply heard about F3. He picked his first workout by going onto the website. And what did he pick? #FastTwitch. Not the best choice for someone who proclaimed this morning that he hadn’t done much running in the last 10 yrs. So, T-claps to Water Seal for posting this morning after that brutal #BeatDown that he endured last week.

Naked Moleskin…

Perfect weather for a DMZ workout: 51 degrees and moderate to heavy rain showers.  Add an FNG to the mix and here we go!  How about a muddy 40 yard bear-crawl to start? Sure!  Then, pax hustled on over to the athletic field and dove into the ‘backwards run/sprint back’ portion of the workout.  It didn’t take long to realize the difficulty calling cadence when your sucking maximum air in the driving rain…stand up and breath!

Where is my FNG? Here he comes…he is in the suck!   Follow me boys…we entered the woods on the backside of the pitch-dark park.  Pax planked in a row along a low lying area…next exercise..bear-crawl up a 10’ x 50deg embankment! Dont forget merkins at the top, bear-crawl back down and hold it!  Rinse and repeat X 4…did I mention the heavy-steady rain?

Where is my FNG? Oh, he’s on one knee…hang in there bro!  We’re in the DMZ; time for partner carry and wheelbarrows…across the open field…avoid enemy fire and meet on the basketball court for some Ma-ma-mary.  On your backs boyz…low flutter feels good! Now hold it six inches…open your mouth and have a drink of water…did I mentioned the pounding rain?  More partner carries and wheelbarrows across the ball court…then line up for some ‘dips for a dip’ into ‘decline-merkins’ x 4(swampfox favorite).  Pax ‘spotted’ a planted shovel-flag on a side hill and after circling the flag, plank walks were in order.  Throw in some mountain climbers, merkins, imperial walkers and windmills(slaughter wheelhouse) to keep it real.  Where is my FNG?  Hands on his knees, some hacking, he’s OK!

Q called out 10 minutes to COT! Grab the flag boys lets take’er home after a little Indian Run..of course.  We broke out of the dark woods to a brightly lit church parking lot with shovel-flag in hand.  Where is my FNG? Dragging a$$, so we gave FNG-Caveman a break on the last Indian Run session.  How generous!

Welcome back 90210 and welcome FNG DoDoBird – keep coming back – it will get easier and it will change you.

YHC wanted some final mud run prep and what better way to get it than being Q – thanks for allowing me the opportunity and coming along for the ride.

Not much 2nd F out there today – mostly due to O2 deprivation on YHC part and plus the pax got pretty spread out.

Enjoyed hanging with guys in the gloom this AM. Can’t think of a better way to start the day.

Great work by all today.  Nothing special thrown out there, just a nice sweat was broken.  A taper, if you will, for those doing mud run this weekend.  The hill was a #crowdpleaser as always.  Puppy Love and Wingman tried to persuade YHC to keep moving past it but it is such a good time killer #noweinke.  Plus it could have been a lot worse had we started at say 5 times up the hill.  She was steep.  Shocked to find out that our new site FNG and our WD today, Dirty Diana, is in his 1st week of F3 and today was his 4th day posting #strong.  Keep coming out brother.  Thanks to Semi Gloss for leading us in prayer.
