Moleskin-
Good turnout today. Bulldog really put in a lot of effort to pull PAX over to the Charge. He mentioned it at COT yesterday. He mentioned it in the closing prayer. He wrote a pre blast. (Who writes a pre blast for a normal weekly workout?) He tweeted endlessly last night. He failed. The DV faithful showed as expected.
Props to the KBers who showed up early. YHC had to separate Busch and Bananas early as they were getting a little too chatty during the warm up. Punishment for this behavior was Busch partnering with me. They still seemed to get next to each other and giggle often. Holiday Romance… when Bulldog is away the mice will play..
Lot of grumbling about the amount of reps. Except for DK who seems to especially like bear crawl suicides.
There were some smokers on the sprint relays. Pretty evenly matched until Ice Hole pulled up with a blown hammy. Hope you recover soon and it isn’t anything serious. The other team had a few early jumps so YHC declared us all loser and we all did the burpees. Side Note: Geraldo did not crash and tumble on the pavement like he did months ago when doing sprint relays. “Big Boy Fall Hard”
Thanks for letting me lead and proving to Bulldog that even after a massive marketing blitz the DV faithful are not swayed.

Starting in January of 2014 Area 51 has committed 5 pax the first Sunday of every month to work with Christ Covenant Church and the Church on the Street (COTS) ministry. This organization works with various churches and groups around town to cook and serve breakfast every Sunday to Charlottes homeless. Our task, for now is to coordinate with Christ Covenant and have one of our teams meet down town under the bridge of Brookshire and N Tryon to help set up and serve food. If we receive strong interest then our role will grow.
As you prepare your 2014 resolutions we ask that you consider making this one of your top choices. A lot of us have expressed a desire to become more active in our community and this is a great opportunity to do so. It will also be a good experience to share with your 2.0s and F3 brethren. We all know how powerful we are as a group. If you have ever been to a CSAUP event then you have witnessed it. Let’s apply that motivation to help others and strengthen our community.
If you fill called to do this then step up. Challenge your 3rd F and 1rst F groups to serve together.
Here is how it will work. You can sign up via the Sign up Genius link below. Be sure to include your name, F3 name and email. There will be a QIC for each Sunday and he will be responsible for coordinating the team on their given day. There is a Christ Covenant rep who you will be put in touch with as well so you can coordinate.
Here is an example of how we did it recently:
0545- all Pax meet at Piper Glen Starbuck and carpool down (parking is limited)
0615- meet with Christ Covenant rep and start setting up
0630- Start Serving
0730- Clean up and depart
Sign up here:

Below is a link with more information. Please don’t sign up directly with Christ Covenant if you want to do it with an F3 group. I have already blocked off our days on the Christ Covenants site.
Let me know if you need more details

I am looking forward to growing our presence in our community and serving with you in 2014

Strong work by the group today. The pre gamers definitely got their moneys worth. There was a bit of confusion on how the hair burner and sandbag routine would work at the beginning. YHC must not have explained it well enough. We got it together by the first pain station though. I expected this to take a lot longer than it did. I still had 17 minutes left once we got to the end. So the hill work and bear crawls were a bit impromptu.
I don’t have any funny moments to mention as it was all I could do to focus on the task at hand. We moved those plates a long way (.49 mile) with really no breaks.
Keep Geraldo in you thoughts and prayers. He hurt his back during the KB and had to call it a day. Tiger Rag had him sign a disclaimer right before he left
I should mention Spackler texted the captioned right after the work out. I think it counts

Small group today so no one could hide. Semi Gloss mentioned this on the first 100 through weird noises and moans. Everyone was a bit shocked to see Bulldog show up at Day Zero. He hasn’t been back since the first DZ challenge. He made himself at home and promptly broke wind right in my face as I held his feet for Grown man Sit up. The Brits have no couth. It reeked of bad tea and crumpets. To make it worse as I turn my head to escape it Semi Glosses shirt is up around his neck fully exposing himself.
Long Distance has found his exercise. I anticipate his next Q to be a full 45 minutes of plank walks. He lead the pack today and let us know about. “ Am I beating you?” “ I finally have an exercise I win at”. I have always appreciated humility. Nice work out there today LD. I guess I should talk about Purple Haze because if I don’t his feelings will be hurt. So here it goes. Next time you are around PH and someone calls knee tucks watch him. It is extremely awkward and painful.
Iron horse never disappoints. He apparently is starting his own clothing line and patch business. He was sporting his very detailed go ruck shirt. “ This little square here represents the concrete that was on the pole…..” “and this cobra over here….” #toomuchspearhead.
Fine work by all today. Thanks for the opportunity to have me and Iron Horse lead.

Strong Group today. Stage Coach had us shooting free throws early and there wasnt a great showing. YHC was up first and Air Balled the first three. Then I drained it like I used to at Landsdown Elementary. After that only Spackler and Baracus put up anything that would be considered respectable. Apparently Spackler played ball in college and was pretty decent. Google highest free throw percentage record at Meredith University and you will find him. Baracus got lucky is all I can tell. It was pretty dark and shooting after a round of merkins and burpees didn’t help either. Some even gave up on the free throws and walked it in for lay ups. They missed a lot of those too.
Doing legs is always awful. That’s why mine look like pearl white painted chop sticks. Lots of groaning about the exercises but everyone made it through. Apparently I have found Fletchs kryptonite to keep him from blowing the group away on the runs. Throw 100 left leg step ups at him before and he is at least a little normal. We all looked a little wobbly coming out of those. Kind of like a new born deer finding its legs. AWWHHHHHH, baby deer’s.
Always good to lead. Stage and I appreciate it.

Happy to lead a great group today. North Face followed by Hair burners equals dead legs. Thanks to Tiger Rag for allowing me to use his plates. During North Face not a whole lot of talking going on. Just work. However, once we moved over to the hair burners and YHC called all the way up to the light post I got a lot of negative feedback. “No way, yeah right, we can’t do that” etc. Well, I believed we could because I believe in how strong the men are. So off we went. We didn’t make it, we couldn’t, it hurt. So I called an audible to only go to the sign. We all made that but it still hurt. So when we started the next round I shortened it again. The sign was probably close to 100 yards and the next round was probably 50 or so. It was also all up hill.
Thanks again for letting me lead. It is always rewarding. Welcome FNG Voodoo. Hope to see you again soon.

We started out fast today and really never slowed down. 30 minutes of sprints with sandbags followed by muscle failure inducing exercises equals long nap today.
I don’t know what it was today but the pax were dropping like flies. Runstopper had to pull up in the first 5 minutes to be followed by Spackler, Long Weekend and Baracus. T Claps to all of them for pulling through and getting back in the fight. Hope you all recover soon. Spackler sent a note saying ice and Vodka are helping him through the day
Props to the Ruckers Hoff and Liquor Cycle. Not an easy day for a pack.
Props to the guys who ran in from the Rock
Good times out there today during the races. It was fun to watch everyone go so hard. I usually have some funny stories for these back blasts but I got nothing. I am sure someone will comment on me helping Spackler stretch. Getting close at Day Zero has become a custom. Stop fighting it and just hold someone.

The Day Zero Challenge
This Saturday will be the first of a recurring challenge at Day Zero.
We all dedicate a great deal of discipline, time and effort into participating in F3 workouts. Purple Haze and I want to help you measure your results on a regular basis. The event will consist of several exercises completed over a 1 hour period. It will be the same every time we hold the Day Zero Challenge. (We are thinking every 8 weeks or so). The clock will start at 0700 and end at 0800. You will measure how far you get within the cycle. And then the next time you do it try to exceed your last.
There will be no coupons, sandbags, etc. It will be just you, your body and your mind. I think it is a safe assumption that the exercises chosen will be difficult and so will the amount you have to do. We wouldn’t call it a challenge if this wasn’t the case.
There will be no heroes in the back blast or scores posted. If you want Purple Haze and I to keep track of how far you get then we are happy to do so. That way you do not have to worry about tracking your improvement.
Things to consider:
Here is an example of how it will work. The sequence has not been determined yet but will be soon. Each set of exercise is followed by a lap around the track. (The lap will consist of every inch of the cement track. If you stay on the outside edge you will be fine. I note this because there are places where you could cut across (basketball court). We will try to put some cones out to guide you)
COP-
Exercise #1-
100 Burpees
Take a lap.
Exercise #2
100 Squats
Take a lap
It will go on like this until one hour expires. We hope to see you all out there. The following Hard Committed Saturday night. I thought is best to put them here so they know I didn’t forget. HC in the comments below. That way you know you will do it. We look forward to seeing you out there.

Great turn out today. This is the most we have had to date. Thanks for everyone’s support. This was an up tempo day.
Hoff brought every weight in his house for us to use. There were several KBs, Weighted vest, a ruck, sand bags, I think I saw a big jar full of pennies it was endless. I don’t think many were expecting the gear work out and it smoked us.
I am more of fan of the cardio burn so when I got in there I tried to keep us moving. YHC got allot flak from the PAX when he called partner bear crawl drags. This was a little treat from GRC 707. Only a few of us did it. There were a bunch of big chested dudes walking around saying “no way”, “I’m not doing that”. Oh well 30 burpees were a good substitute for my less adventurous comrades. I will say it was kind of weird to look down and see purple haze staring through my soul. YHC called out for all PAX to close their eyes. It didn’t help. First and last for that one I think
I liked the team race. YHC had to cut it short for time. I picked similar builds to settle the final. Boutique versus Mic Check. It was close going out. It was not close coming back . Mic Check smoked him. He said something about just toying with him. None the less, great effort Boutique and everyone else. I should note I got smoked by a 12 year old.
Props to the double downers. Mic Check, Chipotle, and TR

So the morning started with me reading a late night text from Dora saying I may not make it. Something hurts…. blah blah blah. Keep in mind he has been telling me daily since Monday he would be there Wend. Must still be hiding under the covers with Go Ruck PTSD. Get back in the fight Dora- as we heard a thousand times Friday/Saturday.
YHC tweeted a Heart Attack Pace pre blast and thats what we did. We moved fast the whole time and were pretty much nonstop. Not much talking out there. Becky, posted 3 months ago for the first time and never showed his face again until today. (5 minutes late) Welcome back brother.
Props to Geraldo for manning up and letting us know he didnt complete the initial 11s in the allotted time. We did the penalty and moved on. Integrity- I like it
Bulldog mentioned that Bananas was puking after the first Indian Sprint. I asked Bananas about it and he said Bulldog was just jealous of him and trying to make him look weak. Lovers quarrels are fun to watch.
Welcome to FNG Ryan D. aka Jebadiah. It was a real sad attempt at names today and I think we all left a little disappointed in that effort. Name Change guaranteed at the next post. Sound off in the comments with ideas.
Nice work by all and the effort was great. I like the time element because you got to see people really push when time got low. Thanks for letting me lead as always.
