Moleskin:

It’s really amazing how much you can do with the coupon. So much we didn’t get to. So glad we didn’t get to it. My arms are done. Washing my hair in the shower seemed like another exercise.

Thanks to Glidah for showing up early and helping with the coupon arrangement. Thanks Posse for his casual Q-jacking. Might have to make Big 10 an honorary Site Q with how consistent he is showing up.

YHC took us out

Big Biller Insights from Impromptu

26 Pax came out to Impromptu for a Q by YHC that was inspired by none other then our own One Star based on the above video. As I began this week I was feeling a little unsettled and thinking there is more that I could do. And then it all keep together. I enjoyed the human side of F3, but then came to realization that similar to One Star I like people. So this week I a was grateful to be named co-site Q for the Floater, having the opportunity to Q Impromptu, and help put together the EFFEE Awards for this group. I began to think of myself as critical organization. So today was all about helping people achieve their goals and obtain the next level of success.

Warm up:

  • Quick mosey to front of school
  • Smurf Jacks
  • Jimmy Dugans
  • Mt Climbers
  • Calf Stretch

Thang:

Partner up – P1 runs one way around circle P2 runs other way. Each time you meet alternate between Hand Slap Bobby Hurleys and Hand Slap Merkins. Complete 4 rounds starting with 5 and increase by 5 each round.

After we completed the above I was beginning to hone my skills and we moseyed to front of the high school for next set of partner exercises. Here I became passionately curious about the pax and wanted to see what would happen if I called Dora 1,2,3 and opened with 100 burpees, 200 squats, and 300 dips. Needless to say the 100 burpees did not go over well, so we modified to 50.

Additional Note: This is when being alongside my inspiration for this Q, that I found he may need to go back and hone his math skills because counting was becoming a major issue throughout this segment. 17 + 37 divided by 4, carry the 2….here is a hint for the future. When P1 returns just listen to the pax next to you and +15 to their total.

Next we moseyed onto the far entrance to the high school parking lot to do yet another set of partner work up and down the paved hill. Here it was similar to the 1st segment but each time you met your partner alternate between hand slap big boi sit ups and hand slap Mike Tysons. Again the count started at 5 and after each round add 5 more with goal of reaching 20 of each. This is where we all transitioned from generalist to specialist and had to learn how to coordinate the hand slap Mike Tysons. The first few attempts were incredibly awkward, but soon enough it appears that many of the pax were able to accomplish their goal.

Due to time constraints we called this section a little early and headed back to COT with a quick pit stop on the wall for some air presses.

Moleskin:

  • Lots of chatter with 100 burpee call and threats to be banned from Impromptu by Recalc. Look forward to receiving an invite to Q from Hooch later this month for a date in August 2020.
  • Lot of RESPECTable Pax out this morning. Is it me or does it seem like Rockwell has been holding onto 49 for way too long.
  • Good to see the PDS boys make an appearance today
  • Did Posse just post this morning to find a loophole in the Octuple challenge and receive credit for a double post this morning Diesel/Impromptu?

Announcements:

  • Homecoming Launch Saturday at Weddington – led by Snowflake
  • EFFEEs this Saturday night, waiver to be signed at door as to not be offended

It’s not too cold once you get used to it

3 pax met up at Elizabeth Lane Elementary for an intimate episode of Meathead. 2 of us pre-ran individually. I got started late, so I only did 2.5 miles. Purell started later and probably finished 5. #faster

Announcements:

  • The big announcement is that we’re going to make some changes to Meathead in the new year. More details to come in a pre-blast, so keep an eye out.
  • Sign up for the Jingle Bell Run – see Wild Turkey for information.
  • The weather is getting cooler, but that’s no excuse not to post. Pre-runs are a great way to warm up, but doing ballistic kettlebell exercises will have the same effect.

I’m not out here to suffer

Sparta is one bad AO – 4.5 minimum and plus a barrage of boot camp exercises. I set up a half-mile acceleration run bookended with body builder burpees and pull-ups. Speaking for myself, it was a smoker.

However, F3 shouldn’t be all about pain and suffering. You should never feel bad that you’re not “one of the fast guys” or you modified the number of reps. Heck, don’t feel bad if you took a few days to nurse an injury. We’ve all got enough stress and pain in our lives. F3 is a celebration of what you CAN do. It’s a culture of encouragement and fellowship. Just do your best. Focus on improving yourself in a positive way. Most importantly share an encouraging word, high five and smile with your buddies in the gloom.

Stay warm!

Centurion pre-blast – FAMRAP meetings Lochness Loops

Come join us tomorrow for a new installment of FAMRAP at Centurion. YHC will be your guide and promise to make it worth your time. A quick overview will be provided at launch then we will get after it, so don’t expect a COP or any fluff. It will be a derivative of the Lochness loops YHC use to Q south of hwy 51. Come ready to push yourself – this one is you vs. you. See you in the gloom.

Spack Classic

Image result for caddyshack gopher

For the record – this system sucks. It can’t be that hard to fix or to go to something new, right? Start charging the new guys or something. Let’s turn this thing on it’s head. I had something all typed up and now it’s messin with me and homey aint got no time fo dat sh*t. I’m going back to OTF.

You can never try to tame the Gopher. Some would say you just need to bend over a take it like a man but I wouldn’t say that. You just gotta keep your head down, close your eyes and accept it.

Most got in 2.98 miles. Geraldo skipped El Stomache’ to make sure he got 3. Maybe the Smokester too. Er’body got their fair share of dips, supine PU, derkins, etc. Whatever.

Puddin shat his pants worse then I’ve ever heard, seen or smelled. That is it. Think skunk meets trash juice meets badussy.

All my rowdy friends …. are ready for a Badger win!

Temps were a bit chilly this morning but that didn’t stop 15 PAX from being subject to relentless College Football references from YHC.  It is conference championship week, right?! Normal disclaimer with an added part about YHC does not advocate gambling nor should any point spread or over/under referred during the workout be considered a suggestion.

Backup at #TheFloater

20 PAX got a flavor of what it was like when #TheFloater originally launched when Recalculating was only 53 almost 2 years ago. When Moneyball and YHC launched this site, we just about got chased out of town by the police thought we only had a couple areas to work with. Even though we later have seen how great and large this AO can really be (thanks to guys like Thin Mint and future Site Qs like Deadwood and Zin).

Soooooo, this weinke was to go back to the roots of the original workout areas. YHC gave a self-admitted very limp DCCS and we were off.

CLOSEOUT PRAYER FOR OLE MCDONALD AND HIS FAMILY

A Burpin’ and a squatin’

I can’t stand working out in the cold…. I post based on the 3 warmest mornings for the week. Since I had no choice today and saw we’d be sniffing freezing temps I had to make sure I could feel all my fingers and toes before holding heavy metal objects for a prolonged period of time. I thought what better way to get the blood flowing than a bunch of burpees and squats… over a hill.

WARM UP

Mosey across the parking lot and quick fakie toward entrance then hard left to the very back parking lot which apparantly no one has seen until today. You’re welcome I guess?

Emp Walkers x 10 IC
Tater Pickers x 10 IC
Calf Stretch hold plank
Mtn Climbers x 10 IC
Merkins x 10
Peter Parkers x 10 IC
Short mosey back to Mt. Chiseled for instructions on how to sweat in near freezing conditions.

THE THANG

Short and sweet this one.

Burpee / Squat 10-1 over Mt. Chiseled
10 burpees – over and down the hill – 1 squat
(lots of burpees, squats, hills, heavy breathing)
1 burpee – over and down the hill – 10 squats

My theory was proven as several Pax were already steaming under the parking lot lights.

As we moseyed over to the row of pain stations I had laid out Schneider comes sprinting out front as if he’d just utilized the all important turbo mushroom in Mario Kart. Loved that extra push and energy today!

Assembly Line of Pain w/ Runner Timer

  1. Coupon swing
  2. Coupon jumps squats
  3. DB curls
  4. DB kick backs
  5. Plank DB rows
  6. Bar thrusters
  7. KB clean and press
  8. BB sit ups
  9. Merkins
  10. Pistol squat
  11. DB Man makers
  12. DB ‘Merica Hammers
  13. Tire flip
  14. Runner – around main parking lot

Well we knocked that out in about 11 minutes. Mostly because each Pax selflessly hustled and ran when it was there turn. Many times we default to a mosey when things get tough… but not today. I had planned to rinse and repeat to try and best the groups time but the clock helped us do that anyway. By shortening our run we were able to complete another assembly line of pain in about 6ish minutes and it was time for COT.

MOLESKIN

We had 14 total PAX come out today near freezing temps. Not too shabby. Gotta say I’m loving this whole Q thing… It gives me even more reason to get up before most of the world and help create something positive in someone’s life. That’s a big deal. So, thank you for allowing me to be an official part of the Chiseled Q team! I know Banjo will bring it as a new site Q over at Homecoming with Posse. We all need to post over there and show some love.
