Day Zero BB – Full Body

15 PAX including a FNG posted this morning. We covered nearly all the main appendages and everyone left with something. Breakdown:

We mosied (past tense of mosey?) to Kobe Court and warmed up. We did stuff.

We mosied to Tuesday Morning parking lot. Announcement: TM is closing. Who would have ever thought that a discount clutter store in a nondescript shopping center hole with no signage would ever not thrive? Weird.  @StoneCold teared up when he saw the “Store Closing” sign. We consoled him and told him that TMs are elsewhere in the city which seemed to lift his spirits.

Partner up. A runs backward toward the entrance while B does 5 merkins and catches him, flapjack. Run back to start. Same thing with 10 merkins and karaoke. Run back to start. Same thing with opposite karaoke direction. Run back to start. Everyone backward run to entrance.

*Modified Matterhorn* – 10 burpees at bottom of hill, 10 burpees at top, 10 burpees on other side of the mtn. Run all the way back. 25 jack knives. Rinse and repeat X 3.

Mosey to playground. Teams of 3 at each pullup bar. 6X6X6X6 pullups (inboard/outboard/1-1, 1-1), 5X5X5X5, you get the point. Total of 85ish pullups.

Run around the school track (#weirdtrack). @McGee took over for the last 7 minutes and crushed our legs. Crushed. T-Claps @McGee who did that all while having SARs.

Moleskin: @IronHorse stamped his approval for today’s workout. What more do we want?

@Rachel (FNG) wandered up to the AO at 0645. He heard about F3, saw PAX around town, stickers on cars, did research and posted on his own. He also crushed the workout, not passing the Q so as to not embarrass him on his first post. In COT, he muttered that he’s from Cheboygan, Wisconsin (not really) and that he’s a Marine which got a lot of “Ooohhhhh, ok’s.” He got a chick’s name which says it all. T-Claps brother.

Pullup group A finished much faster than pullup group B. Sources report that group A did almost no pullups, sat in a circle and told ghost stories to each other. Group B was swole (#spellcheck) when we finished which was the intended goal.

@TurkeyLeg is an absolute beast. @Alf was also hot on the trail this morning. @Rachel – you wow’d us all. Keep coming out.

@Prohibition brought some sweet tunes including the #MichUltraSong. Well done. *Insert Michelob Ultra Commercial*

SOFAWIB BB – Cannon Call

9 PAX assembled at the DOP for a shellacking. It was simple and yet painful.

The Thang

Run to Randwick (cannon entrance) and back for time (1.4 mi round trip).

Do 1/2 of a Murph (50 pullups/100 merkins/150 squats)

Run back to the cannon and back for time.

Do 2/2 of a Murph.

Mary to wait for those who waited.

Naked Moleskin

A new PR @IronMike as he lost his shirt in 2 minutes and 13 seconds. Wonder if he does that at work?

@TalkBox was disgusted by 2/2 and demanded a pull-up assist, which YHC was happy to provide. Regardless, he finished strong.

@49’er LIFO’d which is completely acceptable. Happy to have you out brother.

CMPD monitored our workout, as usual.

YHC was honked at (twice) by drivers. Either my popularity has finally taken hold or my all black clothing was offensive to the morning commuters. I vote for the latter.

SOFAWIB Preblast – Modified Murph

SOFAWIB is getting a lot of hype. Near double digits last week. The momentum is exhausting. This is by far the hardest workout in F3 on Rea Rd. on Tuesday mornings. No, but seriously, it’s legit.

In honor of the BRR, we’ll be getting some miles in while we also combat the soccer arm epidemic that is currently sweeping the Queen City due to the incessant BRR prep going on.

The Thang 

Run out of OPE (Olde Prov. Elementary) and go left (opposite of HT parking lot). Run all the way to Randwicke Place/Rea Rd. (the street with cannons at the entrance) for time. .7 mi there, .7 mi back (notice the hill, #BRR).

When back at the OPE, do 1/2 of a Murph in whatever order you’d like at the playground out back:

50 pullups, 100 merkins, 150 situps (or is it squats?)

Run back to the cannons and back, for time.

Complete 2/2 of a Murph.

If you finish before 6AM/6:05AM-ish, start over. I think this will take 45 min. We’ll see.

DMZ BB – BRR Recon

In an effort to further recon of the BRR training opportunities in and around this AO, we went off campus and zero’d in on a sleepy hill/street in Royden. @VisionQuest whispered something about a SadClown warmup run with his imaginary friend Bushwood. He was panting before we even started. Here’s what we did:

The Thang:

Run to CAC, Evangelical Free might I add, for warm up:

18 SSH, 12 Merkins, Mary (yes, Mary during warmups)

Partner up, head west on Carmel. At every street on the right, do 10 diamonds, 20 merkins, 30 squats, 40  LBCs.

At Royden, every other driveway on the left, do 20 merkins.

At Sleepy Hollow Hill, the call was 11s to start (with partners) – dumbocrats at the bottom, 4 count over/unders at the top. On our first descent, reality set in and 11s quickly became 9s. Run out – 15 knee ups at every other driveway (now on the right).

10/20/30/40 at the same streets on the left. AYG back to COT.

Moleskin:

3 mi (or so) covered, according to Talk Box. Strong work by all today. Big Willy was muscling through what appeared to be pure agony. T-Claps for the hard work brother. Kirk pushed YHC, per usual, and defied his hatred for running by sprinting the Chinese Downhill out of CAC. Iron Mike kept his shirt on (until COT). TR made a special guest appearance (glad to have you brother). Run Stopper kept flexing without a shirt on “for the ladies” though clearly there were no ladies around…weird. Nobody asked for their deposit back this morning so everyone received at least something by COT.

DMZ BB – 6/22/15

2 dozen (or so) PAX gathered for a hearty down payment. Here’s what ensued:

The Thang:

Mosey to the EFCA. Warmup (SSH, Merkins, Over/Unders, Mtn Climbers). Partner up (speed matters). Hustle out of the gate to Tottenham/Kingswood, stopping at every street (on the right @Kirk, #badlistener) for 15 diamonds and 15 over unders (4 count).

Squats to wait at Tottenham. Looked like human whackamole off Tottenham.

Bottom-ish of the halfpipe. Partner A runs one way and B the other for 7s (burpees aka #flyingsquirrels and diamond merkins), with plank-shakes and merkins (10) at the bottom of each hill.

Mary to wait.

Mosey back to a neighborhood (mosey for some, AYG for others). Mary to wait.

AYG back to COT. Mary to wait.

Moleskin:

@Kirk hates running though can run very fast. Weird.

Good to see @Skywalker back in the gloom. Looked like a @Mudgear advertisement out there with his #BackInBlack gear.

Strong work by all. @Bushwood was on YHC’s heels but youth prevailed, at least for another day.

TClaps @Orlando AKA @Froggie for running into the workout. YHC thought it was a 5 mile entry. Turns out it’s .21 miles, #sigh.

A few dozen PAX gathered in the gloom for a hearty Monday morning deposit.

The Thang:

Mosey from the parking lot to the school lot, mixed with lunge walks, bear crawls.

Warm up: SSH X 30, Imperial Walker X 25, Peter Parkers X 15, Merkins X 14, Mtn. Climbers X 25

3 Man Grinders: Merkins (any flavor you like), Mtn. Climbers, Run in between

Mosey to incline hill. Jacob’s Ladder with burpees.

Karaoke right and left, backward run to the church parking lot.

Mary:

LBC, Crimean Twists, Rosalitas (T-Claps Socrates), Dollies, LSFs, Knee Ups

Moleskin:

-Never cheat Mary. The PAX made painful midwife noises but thanked Mary for every minute of her misery.

-T-Claps to Twix for coming out. Glad you joined the club brother.

DMZ Backblast

26 PAX gathered at the DMZ. The Metro and Southie PAX commenced with the mumble chatter and the beatdown began.

The Thang: Run into the Evangelical Free establishment. Cut through the courtyard and back to the front.

Warm Up: SSH X 30, Imperial Walker X 15, Merkin X 14, Mtn Climber X 15

Run to the back side of the Brickhouse.

3 man teams: 1 does 6 burpees/12 derkins and then People’s Chair, 2 does 20 dips/20 derkins, 3 runs between. Rinse and repeat for a while. Steady decline in derkins. Fatigue makes cowards of us all.

Run to the bottom of the hill. Partner up for Frank Abagnales: Partner A does 3 burpees while B runs backwards alongside the Brickhouse. A catches B and flapjack to the top.

Mary (Dolly, LSF, Rosalita, others I can’t remember)

Karaoke right/left to bottom of the hill. Rinse and repeat Frank Abagnales.

More Mary (Crimean Twists, Knee Ups, Freddy Mercuries)

Run to the bottom. 10 burpees OYO. Run to courtyard for last segment of Mary (6 inches, Over/Unders, Elbows).

Mosey to COT.

Moleskin:

Evangelical Free confused the PAX, particularly Dredd.

T-Claps to Snoop for posting down south. Very much appreciated brother.

DMZ – Backblast

Nearly 30 PAX came out for a balmy 50 degree DMZ gloom session. Kim Jung would be proud.

The Thang:

All CAC, all morning. Run around the parking lot then a warm up:

SSH X 50, Merkin X 20, Peter Parker X 15

People’s Chair with partner Derkins (X10), run around CAC, 10 lunge walks, 20 dips, run to bottom of the parking lot, 3 burpees while your partner runs up the hill backward, catch him and flapjack (AYG to the top).

Rinse and repeato X 3 with extra burpees for seasoning.

Groups of 3: One partner does burpees on one end of the parking lot while another does LBCs on the other while another runs between. Burpees became Wide Arm Merkins became Diamond Merkins; LBCs became Dollies became Low Slow Flutters.

CAC courtyard for 6 Minutes of Mary:

Dolly X 20, Rosalita X 25, Russian Twist X 30, LSF X 25, Freddy X 50 (yes 50).

Moleskin:

Strong showing from the PAX. Lot of heavy breathing going on. T Claps to the FNG (Asbestos) who should have received his money’s worth. T Claps to FOD/Hamlet for pushing me. Billingsville needs volunteers (contact Chelms). Please keep Jen Pagnane in your prayers. Well done gents. Aye.

An Impressive showing of 27 +/- PAXS came out for the summer time temps and rain. A down payment was made and solid Time on Target (TOT) of 45 mins was the reward.
The Thang:

A sprinkle of Planks to fill in the down time.

Great start with an Ace (14) of Clubs. This set the tone as the majority of cards pulled were Club face cards. A close second were the brutal Partner Push ups. As one PAX mentioned, “never been so glad to do Turkish Get up!” Mosey back to the DMZ, half way circle back, pick up rest of the team. Strong Finish!

Moleskin:

Not a whole lot of mumblechatter as the PAX were all business. There was no escaping the pain, solid workout by all. Loud T-Claps for the Ruckers, solid performance men! Rain ruined several names during the COT so sound off if you’re missed on the PAX list.

Run to Lacrosse field for Chasers AKA OJ Simpsons

Partner up; Partner 1 lays with their 6 on the deck, Partner 2 sprints while Partner 1 jumps up and tries to catch Partner 2. If caught, P2 does 10 burpees. If not caught, P1 does 5 burpees.

Repeat 4X (2 as hunter, 2 as hunted) followed by mosey and 1 side by side (P1 v P2 – sprint out)

Mosey to parking lot, Karaoke right, Karaoke left

Adjacent Parking Lot – 11s

1 burpee, run 50 yards, 10 lunge jumps – 2 burpees/9 lunge jumps – go til flapjack
