The Parking Lot Shuffle

Twas brisk this morning. Here is what we did:

Partner up (similar weight distribution)
Run to HT. STOP at the entrance and do 5 dumbocrats each
Continue running to colony and take a right onto Colony.
Stop at the next three (3) entrances to the shopping center with 5 dumbocrats each.
At the last entrance (far entrance to doctor office) turn in and run to parking lot for:

-10 Burpees each
-Wheelbarrow across doc office parking lot.
-At end of lot, do 25 monkey humpers
-Run to fountain for 25 dips, 25 derkins, and 25 jump-ups (don’t fall in)
-Run to HT, Partner carry from HT to 5/3 bank
-At 5/3 bank, 25 WWII sit-ups each (partner 1 planking on partner 2 feet)
-Run from 5/3 bank all way back to start and repeat

Moleskin:
Every group got in 3 full circuits with the lead groups pushing 4. We got in:
-20 dumbocrats
-30 to 40 burpees
-75 to 100 monkey humpers #SwiperFavorite
-75 to 100 derkins
-75 to 100 dips
-75 to 100 jump-ups
-75 to 100 WWII sit-ups
-100 yards of wheel barrow/each
-100 yards of partner carry/each
-2.7 miles of running

This was fun. I still think 5 circuits is doable though. Swiper and Kirk decided to take the long way back to start after round 1 for some extra dumbocrats, #GoodListeners, otherwise they might have gotten 5 in.

It was nice to do a workout in a fully lighted area. Also, didn’t realize until now, but there is a Doc Brown clock at HT #1.21Gigawatts! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5cYgRnfFDA).

Voodoo is getting faster and we all see it. Really disappointed Sundancer did not merlot. I thought I might have had him with the full sit-ups. Next time.

The water looked cold in the fountain. Glad no one fell in. Although, Kirk almost took a shot to the face when the fountain came on at 6:09.

Full sit-ups hurt. I thought my partner Daisy was going to merlot during the first set but thankfully he was just clearly his throat. Speaking of Daisy, he was pushing hard out there.

I am officially putting an APB out for Brushback. We miss you #HeartHandSymbol.

Geraldo and A-bomb were FNG’s to SOFAWIB. Welcome! You guys were crushing it.

Announcements:
Voodoo has the Q at The Charge tomorrow.
Save the date for the A51 Christmas party at Sardis Country Club on 12/12.
3rdF Rally Point is every Monday at 6:30 at Dunkin Donuts at Rea and Colony.

You make an important point re: Voodoo. He has become too strong and fast (“strast”?) and is accountability-checking me.

Brushwood-Solid Q, hit major muscle areas. I usually don’t go to that shopping plaza except for HDHH at the Lodge but may make frequent visits via SOFAWIB. As far as well lit parking lot with Monkey Humpers, some things are better left unseen. Voodoo is getting real fast, I didn’t see him until COT.

I’m going to create a SOFA WIB workout generator: Y/N to partners?, choose four exercises and a shape (square, triangle, straight line, arc, etc.), done.

Total free play for Swiper and I. Swiper started doing burpees instead of dumbocrats. We missed the monkey humpers on lap 1. Partner carried to and from 1.6667 Bank, everytime but the last one (odd). We got tripped up on the instruction to run “all the way back” and asked what we thought was a good clarifying question, “To the school?”, which was met with “no, not to the school”. Not “no, back to the office building”, just “not to the school”…so we ran the block with dumbocrats again. We were surprised to see Bushy and Daisy already there. BTW, Daisy stepped up the running today – well done.

Despite all that, we still got in a decent workout. I clocked 2.79 miles with our detours, so most are probably in the 2.5 mi range, with a fairly full body assortment of exercises.

Voodoo apparently likes to look into his partner’s eyes during Monkey Humpers. I didn’t realize that was a “thing”, but apparently he’s not alone, as there is a pretty big online community for that #DonotGoogle #NSFW. A-Bomb watching a group of about four others finishing them, his headlamp acting like a spotlight, may have been creepier. Red Rocks aka Andy Dalton clone was moving at a pretty good clip on the run back. I think they’ll do well at the Mud Run on Saturday.

That’s all I’ve got since we were apparently doing Montessori SOFA WIB today.

Monkey Humper Partner Staring Contests aren’t weird (#TopGunBeachVolleyball).
Seeing your shadow while doing monkey humpers and mumbling “I really need to #FocusOnForm.” That’s pretty weird.

Yes, yes, and no.

Decent workout means just that. To quote Nancy Reagan, “I am a big believer that eventually everything comes back to you. You get back what you give out.” Gotta point to the Let Me Run handbook for the assist there, but that’s like WIB 101. You’ve gotta push yourself.

And to paraphrase Ecclesiastes 1:14, “I have seen all things done under the sun, and monkey humpers done in the pale moon light; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

MMOB – does the CLT mayor have a cabinet? Cause that’s Nancy Reagan and OT scripture in one post #nailedit

Great workout, Bushwood. That was a nice change of venue this morning. I also appreciated the 0.5 mile AYG to/from the workout instead of the full mile. It still sucked, but for a shorter duration.

I appreciate the plaudits, but I don’t feel like I’m getting much faster. Maybe very gradually. I need to find the workout where the slow guys post. Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck with that. Does the F3 maxim of “run faster by running with faster PAX” work in reverse? If so, when will Swiper, Kirk, Bushwood, etc. start coming back to the pack?

As far as monkey humpers, I’m pretty sure the F3 manual requires them to be performed either: (i) in the shadows or (ii) in a circle to ensure that no one is in front of anyone else. #youcan’tunseethat It’s better to look into each other’s eyes than each other’s… uh, I think you know what I mean.

I hope to see some of you tomorrow at the Charge. Hopefully I’ll have a weinke ready by the time I get there.

Hi Fellas, i have missed you all so much #brothersgottahug. Been down for 3 weeks with horrific allergies and sinus congestion. Better now, but did decide to lift today instead of run #iliftthingsupandputthemdown #noodlearmrevolt. I’ll be back next week.

Sundancer, as always great comments on the monkeyhumpers. Those should be in every workout solely for the awkwardness and the subsequent mumblechatter and backblast comments.

The list of required exercises at SOFAWIB continues to grow: pull-ups, burpees, WWII sit-ups, partner carries, monkey humpers, etc. And lots of running. Coding for Kirk’s SOFAWIB workout generator should be pretty straightforward with so few variables. Wingman can probably throw that together while he’s sitting on the can pre-workout.

I had to add on more comment to make sure we got the comment # up to or above the PAX #, which is mandatory for a SOFAWIB backblast.

#MoonLanding made me LOL. That’s one of my favorite hashtags ever.

How’s this for a late BB comment? Clarifying point* – “Swiper and I did that…” Should read “I did that to Swiper.” It #gotweird and I did not and do not approve. I do like the parking lot though. Well lit, clock towers, Mexican/pizza/cleaners/bank in one place (Merica), and creepy pressure washers out by HT. Why did it smell like bacon and not Clorox? They were undeterred by the Monkey Humpers.
