Thanks to the PAX for letting me lead.  6 brave men decided to leave the warmth and comfort of their fart sack to bear the cold and wet conditions presented at the Maul this AM.  It was good to see Cold Cuts, who admitted he was back from his fart sack hiatus. There were varying opinions of the weather and what was ahead of us, which led to the suggestion of going to the parking deck.  We ultimately held off and kept with the plan.

The Murder horn always presents a nice cardio challenge…Incorporate some exercises into it and it becomes a very tough challenge.  As always, Happy Meal was out in front with Tagalong not far behind.  As we were finishing up the third rep. and recovering, Happy Meal mentioned the fact that we just did 180 merkins! We were definitely feeling it!

Once we were done with the Murder horn work, the sets of 11 were a nice change of pace to focus on some lifting.  The rain started to pick up slightly so we sought out shelter at the covered picnic area for our dips and step ups.  The Murder horn never seems to escape the mind at the Maul, especially as you sit at the bottom of it, knowing you’ll have to finish by going back up. To make the experience that much more awful, it’s always nice to do it backwards.  The awfulness is further validated by comments such as Tool Bags, “Are you making this up as you go?” as we began the journey back up or Tagalong’s, “My legs are burning…what are these…your quads?” at the top.

All in all, it was a good, full body workout!  Nice job today fellas!
