I saw Semi’s boobs.

DayZero is kind of a big deal. It’s sort of like the SharkTank or Ranger of A51. Although, Ranger is more about the personalities and the trash talking than the actual workout. Regardless, it must be brought’n at DayZero. We cracked open a can of #highintensity whoop a$$ and here is what did. I think.

Mosey down Carswell to “The Loop”

It was so crazy that Semi disrobed and that image will forever be burned into our minds. You can’t come back from that.

Fletch tore this workout a new one. He won the loops almost every time. The only time he did not win was when I was his partner and he slowed down for me. McGee and Maybe were up front all morning too.

I could not have called the Monkey Humpers at a more perfect time. At the Baybrook/Bevington intersection, there was a running group of about 30 women that had front row seats as we monkey humped. It was special moment. The flash photography was insane. Now I know how Brad Pitt feels. One even gave their number to McGee #perfectform.

McGee brought out a co-worker as an FNG and promptly left him to survive on his own #caring. D-Stick played defense on the Lacrosse team in college (Penn State?). McGee originally named him Long Stick but thought D-Stick was better and more tame (??). I have no idea how he will be able to tell anyone his name. D-Stick hung tough through a hard workout #punsallovertheplace.

It was good to have Maybe down from Metro. He’s a big Cardinals fan, which makes him kind of sketchy, but still a good dude. Come down south anytime.

Voodoo showed up and crushed 24% of the workout. At least he kept his shirt on.

The site Q’s failed to show up. Thanks for the keys though.

I thought we would have enough time for one more loop but we failed. Still got in 4.25 miles, 210 derkins #thatsalot, 200 LBCs, 110 dips, 100+ Flutters, 40 burpees, 40 pull-ups, and other stuff. It definitely felt more like 6 miles.

The Fellowship of the #4#

Since all of A-51 converged on the murthaship slept in, the crowd was sparse. 4 badasses dudes showed up for 7-11s. Swiper HC’ed the night before but was not present. With boundless zero enthusiasm, YHC led the merry band of 4 into the gloom.

Mosey to Brandermill where we spent the entire time.

11’s (diamonds at the bottom and wide arms at the top)

Flutters x 40IC
LBCs x 50 OYO

7’s (jump spuats at the bottom and jumping lunges at the top)

LBCs x 50 OYO

Burpee ladder:
-3 points on hill (bottom, street in middle, and top) we added one burpee at each stop up to 10 (1, 2, 3…10) and then back down by 2’s.
-Run backwards if we were going uphill

LBCs x 50 OYO
Flutters x 25IC

AYG back to base, stop at each speed bump for 10 merkins OYO

It was a small group but a chatty group. Topics discussed included Jerry Richardson’s wealth ($1.8 billion at time he started Panthers), CMS schools (cancelled after workout with nothing happening), Dredd’s twitter barrage (which was pseudo political and only 6% understandable), JRR Tolkien’s marketing for Muthaship (a little over the top much?), how Canoli and Boomer live on Brandermill but don’t post at DMZ #scared, and many others.

Kirk decided to sprint the steepest part of the hill. He is full BRR prep mode.

Kirk took modifying to a new level on the burpee ladder. Halfway through he did freddy mercuries as his exercise. Normally people will audible to just merkins instead of burpees. Gotta be the first time I’ve seen someone modify a burpee to a freddy mercury #GettingReadyForSwimsuitSeason.

Today’s totals: 3.55 miles, 75 burpees, 150 LBCs, 130 merkin variations, 21 jump squats and jumping lunges, and 65 flutters IC.

Announcements:
Kirk has an epic workout planned for his Death Valley Q on Monday. You should be there.

The highest of the high intensities, probably hit ludicrous intensity

Anvil has new managers: McGee, who talks more than anyone and has a short neck #mutuallyinclusive, and Lobstah Roll, who never talks and runs an IT company but doesn’t understand the twitters #howdidyougetthatjob. It really is a perfect match of AO site Q’s. The original plan was to run to the Day Zero AO where 1) it is the place were the high intensities are located and 2) there are FIA chicks who work out there on Wednesdays. But I nixed it. Instead, we found some intensities at Anvil. Huge tracts of intensities.

7’s on entrance 3: Diamonds at bottom, Wide Arms at top
–LBC’s and Flutters (x 25/each)

11’s at concession stand: Derkins/Dips

11’s at concession stand: Jump-ups/Monkey HUMPERS
–Mountain Climbers x 20

Ladder at entrance 4: Burpees at top (10, 8, 6, 4, 2)
–Freddy Mercury x 25

Ladder at entrance 3 lights:
–Round 1: Merkins (5, 10, 15, 20)
–Round 2: Squats (5, 10, 15, 20)
–Round 3: Peter Parker Merkins (5, 10, 15, 20)
–Round 4: Monkey HUMPERS (5, 10, 15, 20) #feelthebern

Lobstah complained about not having a warm up. Sorry. It was too cold to stand around, so the 7’s at entrance 3 was the warm-up. You’re welcome. Also, no disclaimer. My B. Totally forgot that one.

McGee was feeling the Bern on the Jump-up/Monkey Humpers 11’s. Not sure why, but the humpers hurt. Also, not sure why Bernie is steamrolling Hillary. All of America (Dems only) are feeling the Bern. What if Bernie did Monkey Humpers on stage? #mindblown

Utter got a flat tire after the 7’s. A real flat tire. He displayed his NASCAR pit crew skills to change a flat during the 11’s and reengage the crew at entrance 4. It was impressive to say the least.

Good to see the security guard keeping a watchful eye over the pax cars. The last time the security guy showed up at my Q at Anvil, he kicked us off the parking lot “road”. I feel fortunate that we had a relatively tame workout. Expect for the hugeness of the intensities though.

The Durker

23 showed in the cold temps. After we tried to figure out what happened to our bus stop (it was totally gone, no cover from the rain anymore), we set off to uncharted territory. Those that read the preblast knew we were going to be running hills today. Some did not and they weren’t too happy.

The thang:
Run down Carmel, left onto Town and Country (thanks Runstopper for the illumination)
Right on La Gorce, stop at La Gorce/Sharonview for Merkins x 12IC
Left on Sharonview and stop at Valencia Terrace for Merkins x 12IC, Squats x 5IC #Beast

I discovered Little Brook when I had to pick up my 2 year old son from a sitter. That piece is steep. 8% grade. It is only 0.08 miles long, so long enough to hurt but not too long to kill you. We ran up and down 9 times. Thought about calling partner carries up the hill, but nixed it. I knew it would push the mileage up today since the hill was 1.2 from the AO, but I thought it was a worth the trek. I didn’t think we would hit 4 but we did #Top10Q. Maybe a DMZ record? Little Brook needs a name. How about the Durker (DMZ-Lurker)? Shoutout suggestions below.

Everyone was excited about the hill. Especially Spackler. He crapped himself because of all the excitement #Probiotic. Baracus took the role of Steinbrenner this morning as the most grumpiest. He kept asking to run up it again, so we did. Thanks to Sundancer for watching the six.

Good to see so many guys getting ready for the BRR. Egypt runs faster uphill than down. Kirk smiled the whole time. Swiper and Rachel up front all morning. One Eye kept us safe with his vest #SafetyFirst. Semi didn’t make it because his newly self-installed garage door wouldn’t open #WhydoIhaveAllTheseExtraPieces.

Baracuda was built for partner carries. Well, carrying people at least.

Run to Carmel Middle: side straddle hops, merkins, Russian twists

Sneak out Lori Lane to Colony for dips and Derkins, with a view to a kill (road kill).

Sneak in Carmel Crescent for the “Running of the Crescents” there are 7 with fancy names (Fairlawn, Ellery, Oxford, Carmel, Sheffield, Sheldon, Windsor) run the Crescent + 10 jump squats while partner does burpees, LBCs, heals to heaven, etc..

Some debate on the public nature of these streets… for the record, the main streets and cul de sacs are public, the little parks are “private”, but so are most of the parking lots we play in.   We can continue the debate next time we see our neighborhood watch friend (Angry man who told us we were on “private” streets; almost we clearly missed a great EH moment. Next time.).

Finally back to the church for bear crawls and a final sprint.

It rained. We ran. Heels will make the playoff.

It was raining when I showed up.

Run to Foxcroft (60 diamonds along the way). The road was wet from the rain.

3 man Grinders at Foxcroft
-Man 1 at wall: 20 of each: Dips, Derkins, squats
-Man 2 at Ben & Jerrys: 40 of each: LBCs, Flutters, Dollys
-Man 3 running in between
-AMRAP (it rained at all stops)

Run back to Carmel Park (60 diamonds along the way). Still raining…I stepped in a puddle and my shoes got wet.

It rained during COT.

Pothole with a strong takeout in the rain.

MS:
3.2 miles covered; 4 total trips through the grinder (80 of each at station 1; 160 of each at station 2); 120 diamonds.

Chappy and I figured the Heels need to beat Clemson heavily and Stanford needs to lose to USC for the Heels to have a shot at the playoff. We would also have to jump Ohio State. We got this.

It is still raining.

The Parking Lot Shuffle

Twas brisk this morning. Here is what we did:

Partner up (similar weight distribution)
Run to HT. STOP at the entrance and do 5 dumbocrats each
Continue running to colony and take a right onto Colony.
Stop at the next three (3) entrances to the shopping center with 5 dumbocrats each.
At the last entrance (far entrance to doctor office) turn in and run to parking lot for:

-10 Burpees each
-Wheelbarrow across doc office parking lot.
-At end of lot, do 25 monkey humpers
-Run to fountain for 25 dips, 25 derkins, and 25 jump-ups (don’t fall in)
-Run to HT, Partner carry from HT to 5/3 bank
-At 5/3 bank, 25 WWII sit-ups each (partner 1 planking on partner 2 feet)
-Run from 5/3 bank all way back to start and repeat

Moleskin:
Every group got in 3 full circuits with the lead groups pushing 4. We got in:
-20 dumbocrats
-30 to 40 burpees
-75 to 100 monkey humpers #SwiperFavorite
-75 to 100 derkins
-75 to 100 dips
-75 to 100 jump-ups
-75 to 100 WWII sit-ups
-100 yards of wheel barrow/each
-100 yards of partner carry/each
-2.7 miles of running

This was fun. I still think 5 circuits is doable though. Swiper and Kirk decided to take the long way back to start after round 1 for some extra dumbocrats, #GoodListeners, otherwise they might have gotten 5 in.

It was nice to do a workout in a fully lighted area. Also, didn’t realize until now, but there is a Doc Brown clock at HT #1.21Gigawatts! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5cYgRnfFDA).

Voodoo is getting faster and we all see it. Really disappointed Sundancer did not merlot. I thought I might have had him with the full sit-ups. Next time.

The water looked cold in the fountain. Glad no one fell in. Although, Kirk almost took a shot to the face when the fountain came on at 6:09.

Full sit-ups hurt. I thought my partner Daisy was going to merlot during the first set but thankfully he was just clearly his throat. Speaking of Daisy, he was pushing hard out there.

I am officially putting an APB out for Brushback. We miss you #HeartHandSymbol.

Geraldo and A-bomb were FNG’s to SOFAWIB. Welcome! You guys were crushing it.

Pre-blast: The Parking Lot Shuffle

Yes, this is late. My apologies.

Here is what we are doing:

Goal is 5 full circuits. Stop at 6:10 and meet at round about for an AYG 1/2 mile sprint back to OP.

This should be fun.

Moleskin:
Not a single merkin was called today and 3.25 on the milage. This was basically the direct opposite Ranger from last week. This whole workout was put together as I was on the porcelain throne this morning. It’s where I do my best thinking.

Monkey Humpers hurt like crazy when you do more than 15 at one time. We did 80 #SwoleLegs. Swiper felt awkward doing them amongst 23 other men. Awkwardness is a form of flattery. Soooooooo….

The 100 SSH were a huge hit. Everyone loved them and I’m pretty sure Agony was high-fiving everyone afterwards.

Lots of speed out there today: Fraiser on the bascially everything, Swiper and Goat Cheese on the AYG’s at the end, One Eye on the AYG lap, Benefactor up front on all morning.

I knew Fraiser was near me all morning because his shorts make the unique “swish-swish” sound. Were those nylon basketball shorts?

The whole workout was a leg smoker. Hope everyone was happy. I know Sundancer was #wheelhouse

Iron Mike had a fleece pullover on. And remarkably, he kept it on the entire workout. He was so hot, he had a fog cloud around him the whole morning.

Runstopper can’t park his car straight but he was bumping some Korn in the parking lot #GottaGetPumped

I typically judge the success of my workouts by the “Steinbrenner Grumpiness Scale”. It’s quite scientific, where the grumpier Steinbrenner gets, the harder the workout.  Today he said “I hate you”, which means it was a great workout.

-Station 2 at corner of Bevington and Rea: 20 Dips and 20 Flutters

-Station 3 at Rea entrance to shopping center (Italian restaurant): 20 derkins and 20 squats

Complete 4 cycles through

Mary next to UPS Store
-Dolly x 20IC
-Freddy Mercury x 25IC
-Heels to Heaven x 26IC

Run down Bevington to Hemingford Ct.
-Run to end of Hemingford: 15 diamonds at each cross street (2) and the end
-Run back to start of Hemingford: 15 wide arms at each cross street and the end
-Repeat
-Low/Slow Squats x 8IC

Mosey back to AO
-Stop at Bevington/Carswell for Mt. Climbers x 10IC

Mosey to playground and complete AMRAP:
-10 Pull-ups
-20 Merkins
-30 LBCs
(believe everyone got in 2 sets)

Tiger Rag is fast when he only does 50% of the exercises. Also, TR gave some free squat lessons after the circuit #Freebie. No one was really paying attention though.

Fraiser was angry today. He kept yelling at me.

Fraiser, Fletch and Tiger Rag* (see first sentence) were out front today.

It was good to be apart of the Hairball family reunion. Short Neck (renamed from SUP), Cauliflower, and Second Story all came running in with Hairball. Second Story pushed Hairball out of the second story window when they were kids. His original name was Hairy Toast. No idea how we landed on that or what it means. So I’m exercises my Q privilege and changing his name to Second Story.

Not a ton of chatter today. Everyone was pushing hard. We got in 4.25 miles and lots of other stuff.

That was fun and thanks for the Q Hairball and Prohibition. Also, looks like we beat The Rock in numbers (11 to 10) and milage (4.25 to 3.85). Do I get a trophy?
