SOFAWIB: My Buddy And Me

My bestest buddies showed up at the friendliest workout in 51.
Here’s what went down in the OP –

THE THING: MY BUDDY AND ME
Run the AYG mile to HT (Right onto Rea; run to HT; loop the first pillar; back to OP)
With your partner (never leave him behind/ahead/too far to the side)
–Run to the playground and do 10 pull-ups and 30 dips on the Buddy Bench (Buddy Bench is required)
–Run to Concession Stand and do 20 squats and 20 incline diamond merkin
–Run to the Field and do 30 Russian Twists and 10 dumbocrats
–Run through the woods and to the top of Foxworth hill (at stop sign) and do 10 partner derkins and 30 Flutters (single count)
Run back to field, concession stand, and playground and do exercises. That is 1 round.
Complete as many rounds as possible until 6:05.
Run the mile to HT and back.

NMM
Hitting the pivot point of the opening HT mile, a black Lexus rolls up next to the fleet pax.
Swiper and TalkBox start yelling “Creep!” so I’m really hoping it’s either a pederast propositioning my baby-faced friends, one of the members of Radiohead, or a drug-dealer (which I probably would have been interested in hearing more about at that point in the run).
Unfortunately and fortunately, it was everyone’s favorite site Q who is supposed to be on the IR with a stress-fractured foot, Kirk. He just couldn’t stay away, or was possibly high on pain meds. Again, he didn’t offer me anything, and of course I wouldn’t accept if he did, so I can’t be sure.
Where was I? Right, exercising. Swiper is still fast, and so is Cold Cuts, and everyone did everything they were supposed to, and if you were there you would have been amazed at how gritty-tough-stroasty these guys are. Especially Hammer, whose dedication to SOFAWIB has forced him to declare the concession portolet a second home. Some people have a problem with you putting the pin-up girl calendar on the back of the door and that lockbox on the latch, but we know wolves gotta guard their den. Booyah seems genuinely concerned about my tendency to vomit during workouts.
A quick poll shows that everyone loves and hates chin-ups. So we’ll keep that on the menu.
Also, Cheese Curd is almost as ornery as me in the morning. Almost. Also, I’m glad he’s back.

Minor detail: Over the river and through the woods was soggy, dark, and ridden with goblins. All for some partner derkins and Freddy Mercuries too. Next time, please prepare the trail accordingly for my arrival.

I was too gassed to mention this post COT but before we took off, Cheese Curd and I acknowledged each other and I thought that meant we were partners. Then he took off on the HT mile and was flying with some other dude. My feelings were hurt until I realized he thought we were just saying hello. I didn’t mind the solo but thanks to TalkBox for being my buddy the last go-round.

Indeed, and it pains me, but I need to up my mileage for BRR. Bratwurst freaked me out in his preblast for Swift when he said “only 16 more weeks until BRR.” I’m still waiting for the “official” FT/SOFAWIB convergence I proposed a while back. And I don’t consider Alf’s fly-by a real convergence.

Post was some combination of boredom, feeling fat, and quality control, Unibrowed Ballerina.

And, just happened to be running late, though under non-IR circumstances, I do feel I would have caught up on the opening mile. Figured that if I was going to solo sadclown a workout, I might as well do it around an actual workout. Circuit of pull-ups, dips, merkins, knee ups, single right leg squats (unbalanced), and knees to elbows.

Swiper led a much appreciated extended session of Mary that went well with my modified ab-intensive circuit. Refuseniked the elbow plank.

Hopefully IR is a short term deal, but I still appreciate guys reaching out.
