Union County Convergence at Commitment

30 PAX posted in the Gloom at Commitment for the Union County Convergence.

Kiefer and EE ran 5.25 miles prior to the workout. At least that’s what they told the PAX, no witnesses.
The workout went like this:
COP
50 SSH IC
20 Merkins IC
40 Imperial Walkers IC
40 Squats IC
30 Mountain Climbers IC

The Thang:
Mosey to the Hill in the back of the school, and did the Sevens, starting with 1 Burpee at the top and 6 Jump Squats at the bottom, extra points for sliding down the hill on your six.
Mosey towards the football field, cross the bridge doing Lunge Walks, then half the distance between the bridge and the flag poles we did Bear Crawl.
At the entrance of the track we divided into two groups, one group sprint clockwise and the other counter-clockwise to the other side of the track then:
15 Merkins IC
30 LBCs IC
20 Squats IC
Sprint back to the start point and did:
15 Diamonds
30 Bicycle
20 alternating lunges
Sprint back to the other end again.
Done with my part and time for Double E’s 30 minutes of misery.

The Moleskin:
From Double E:
– Great day to converge with the Men from Commitment and Outland and many of us from Outland are still bitter about losing the Attendance Challenge.
I foresee future AO Challenges more often and would like to see more convergences! 30 PAX and 4 x PSF’s was an awesome site in the dark gloom!

– Doc McStuffin’s no doubt has the fastest Cadence Count in all of F3.  It is like hitting the fast forward button on the chipmunks.

– This ended up being a great day for Mud Run Training event as the Doc McHill we ran was the definition of a slippery slope and the Football Field was a soupy mud fest!
The morning sounds of THUDS as the PAX slipped and fell all over the hill and whatever sound that lower part of your back makes when you are doing LBC’s in the Mud #couldbegas #willneverknow

– 100 Yards of Kamikaze Suicides proved its a worthy beatdown for sure.  Kudos to Udder and Smokey for leading the charge and all who continued to grind through the pain and mud. After the first 50 Yards, we had secondary groups forming their own painstations and PAX chanting “Audible to the 100” or “This Q Sucks” and “You are Uninvited here again”.  Always appreciate the “Great Job Q” at the end of the workout #withintermittentbreathcussing

– Recommend Keifer name change to Key-Fob since we spent at least another hour digging through the mud to find it!

– Good to See Electric Slide back out after 3 Years MIA
From Doc McStuffins:
Great to see the Pax today getting together for the F3 Union County convergence. Put some faces with the names, and have fun doing what we love.
I heard some complaining about the warm up being too long and fast, but most of the complains came from the visitors, I was just trying to make them feel part of the Commitment family.
Sorry about the Hill, was way more slippery than I expected, but I saw the 2.0s having a blast on the way down.
Loved how everybody push hard on the track. I was definitely pushing hard, when Double E took over then I quickly regretted it, I will never look at that football field the same after this convergence.
Thank you all for attending and pushing hard, looking forward to many convergences in the future.

Quick correction… HorseHead’s 2.0 is Boondock.

Great beatdown by both Qs this morning, I hate that we were missing some regulars from both AOs like Ice9, Countertop, Glass Joe and others.

Still great to have a chance to unify this group more, and get to see some new faces of this growing group.

Remember to check out the Facebook page FThree Union County, follow @F3unionco on twitter and let me know if you are not getting the F3 Union emails.

All of the UC workouts are on the Facebook page so see what’s close on different days and get out in the gloom!

Prerun was legit (everything on Strava is true, you know), although I’m not sure that Kiefer appreciates being renamed to Heifer in the BB. That made me laugh out loud BTW.

https://www.strava.com/activities/471366451

My memorable moments were, in no particular order:

– Turbo Chilean death cadence

– going completely airborne on the first trip down the hill

– realizing we were not going to audible the hill and continuing on in terror

– finally drying out a bit on the track, only to move to the swamp for the last 30

– realizing the only thing that makes the kamikaze suicide thing worse is doing it in mud

– finally drying out again to hear that someone lost their keys on the field

– running all the way back in wet clothes, freezing by now, to search for a small key fob

– astonishment when Shepherd came up with the prize – still can’t believe he found it

Good times though, and good coffeteria. Boondock was disappointing a bit though when we found out that Chick Fil A doesn’t have hot chocolate, which is his Saturday post-workout tradition. Fortunately, the gas station next door had a hook up. I’m still amazed at all of the pax from the Lawson neighborhood who post together. Seems like 15-20 guys if I remember. That is amazing.

Good points Horsehead, I was fine on the track but but timid on the sloppy hill and swampy field. That was my 4th post this week and the left knee did not feel stable enough to push it on the mud. Better to limp away and live for another day.

A big thanks to Doc MCStuffins to doctoring up the Thrive shovel flag for us #muchappreciation

I can attest for the last mile for Double EE and Keifer as I zipped past their blinky lights on my way there.

Kudos to all the guys from Commitment for hosting a great convergence! See you next at time Outland where we have plenty of dry pavement to pound upon.

Corrections done, it was a great convergence, I agree we missed some of the regulars but it was nice to see new faces. We should definitely do several of this later this year in Union County, next time we’ll travel to Outland.
I’ll see some of you guys tomorrow morning, I’ll bring the improved Thrive flag with me tomorrow.

No audibles on the hill, we do this on purpose! Great to have Outland join us- Good to see so many of you!
