What is a dewpoint?

What is a dewpoint?

Date: 2023-08-04 AO: kevlar Q: voodoo PAX: Big League Chew, Mile High, poptart, turkey_leg, Cheese Curd, Focker, Orange Whip, lex_luthor, voodoo, Rudy, @limey FNGs: None COUNT: 11 11 pax posted at Kevlar on a cool, but humid morning. BLC and I agreed that the damp feeling had something to do with the dewpoint, but neither of us was really sure what that term means.
WARMUP: SSH x 20 IC, Mountain Climber x 20 IC, Windmills x 20 IC
The Thang: Since I’m old, I knew there was no way I’d be able to keep the young whippersnappers of Kevlar entertained for 45 minutes with just exercises and my wit, so I decided to bring out some sandbags. Thankfully, Flipper entrusted me with his big bags before skipping town for San Diego. I trolled the GORUCK site yesterday afternoon instead of working and a weinke was born.
Start with a 1:00 overhead hold with your bag, then rotate through the following complexes, with 1 pax carrying an 80# of 120# sandbag varying distances while the rest of the pax worked.
Complex 1: 10 cleans 10 thrusters 10 sit-ups with bag on chest
Complex 2: 10 OH press 10 lunges (per leg) 10 burpees with jump over bag
Complex 3: 10 upright/bent-over rows 10 shoulder to shoulder presses 10 deadlifts
Complex 4: 10 cleans 10 front squats 10 push presses
Once everyone had had a turn carrying the big bags, we took a lap around the parking lot with our sandbags, then repeated the above one more time.
OH hold for ~1:30 and time
Moleskine: It was good to see so many pax posting at Kevlar this morning. Clearly, the variety of the sandbags was a draw, but the mumblechatter was top notch. If you’re not posting there, you should check it out. It was great to have BLC back out in the gloom. He’s an Area 51 OG that’s been dealing with a nagging injury that makes running a challenge, so the bags were just what he needed. Thanks to Orange Whip and BLC for the opportunity to Q and thanks to the pax for following my somewhat clear instructions.
Announcements: Nantan handoff tomorrow at COT of The Rock (O’Tannenbaum on Q)/Olympus (heavy carries, sled pushes, heavy bells with me on Q). Join us if you can as Orange Whip takes leadership of Area 51 along with his shared leadership team (SLT).
COT: Thanks to Orange Whip for taking us out this morning. It’s always a good idea to keep in mind the blessings we’ve been given, which hopefully include F3 for you. If you feel that way, please do what you can to invite other men to join us and to reach out to pax you haven’t seen recently to encourage them to return. There are 2 kinds of men out there: the ones who know they need F3 and the ones that haven’t figured it out yet.
