Challenge Accepted

The #F3DayZero Challenge was issued and 17 men accepted.

The Thang

We did the exercise outlined on the giant weinke and then ran a lap around the 1/3 mile track after each exercise.  The goal is to push yourself and get as far as you can (and past your point from the previous Challenge).  These are the exercises of the Challenge:

  • 100 Burpees
  • 150 Calf Raises (50 in, 50 straight, 50 out)
  • 100 Ski Abs
  • 100 Merkins (25 diamonds, 25 narrow, 25 regular, 25 wide-arm)
  • 100 Deep Squats
  • 200 LBCs
  • 100 CDDs
  • 100 Knee Jumps
  • 100 Russian Twists
  • 100 Nipplers
  • 100 Jump Squats
  • 100 Mountain Climbers
  • 200 Shoulder Raises
  • 100 Jumping Lunges
  • 200 Dollies
  • 100 Hindu Merkins
  • 100 Squat Jacks
  • 100 Groiners
  • 100 Burpees

Moleskine

The Challenge is tough.  It is all about you versus you.  But you are not alone…you have all the other guys pushing through the same Challenge and encouraging one another throughout.

When comparing the results of this Challenge to those of the prior two, the Pax have improved.  Until today, the farthest anyone had gotten in the hour was a 3/4 lap after Jump Squats.  Today, 2 pax made a full lap after the Shoulder Raises.  That’s a lot of reps and over 4 miles of running…in one hour.

2 pax stayed overtime to finish the list above and log in excess of 6 miles of running.

I really enjoyed the challenge today from the sidelines. Have some things to add since I was able to observe:

1. Bulldog and Busch hit a different level of beastmode than the average human. I ran twice with them around the ‘track’ trying to act like I was encouraging them. Didn’t work. They don’t mess around on their pace.

2. Radar and Runstopper come into mind as well and they pushed it hard. The disappointed and defeated look on Radar’s face when he realized how far ahead Bulldog/Busch were was priceless.

3. Everybody needs work on their Jump Knee Tuck form.

4. Stone Cold does a perfect imitation of Radar’s merkin form

5. T claps to Stone Cold for turning ‘The Challenge’ into a personal community service project today. There is little trash left out there on the battlefield.

6. I think Haggis was expecting some kind of punching bag exercise with those thick UFC gloves he was flashing. Pretty sure his hair had gel in it as well

7. There is little chance of a fire ever starting to the south side of the basketball court.

8. Semi Gloss was without his fugly yellow beanie for the first time in weeks and we are all thankful he didn’t wear his boy shorts.

9. Only heard Philmont squeal once today. Must have been #O2deprived. Good work brother. You were pushing it hard.

10. Iron Horse has taken Purple Haze under his wing and is prepping him for Go Ruck. #mentor

That is all.

Just getting the feeling back in my arms so I can type. T-claps to Purple Haze for dragging me through the list completion. #CBAUW (completely burned and utterly wasted)…not much chatter during the 2nd hour. Can’t brag much since Bulldog and Busch seemed to have completed the list and starting round 2 during the initial hour. #ManBeasts. #2nd100burpeesnotmuchfun.
