Not that there was anything wrong with the RockZero site (except for a few suspicious looking campers parked near the cricket fields), we set our sites for legacy Day Zero. Hoover and Billy Goat had some alone-time as they were the only two who pre-ran. Sprockets came in hot at 6:59, point of parliamentary procedure announced regarding Billy Goat taking the reins at 7:45, disclaimer given, adventure begins.
Mosey over to the far parking lot, circle up.
Plank jack, IW, MC x 10 (each). Run to DZ playground and plank.
Upon arrival at DZ playground, only BLC (veteran) noticed there were a couple of cardboard signs hanging from the basketball pole. Advised the Pax they could pursue any of the below in no specific order. Gummy had no questions (unusual) so we spent the next 40 minutes doing the following.
Round 1
Round 2
Round 3
Round 4
At 7:45, most started back to RockZero.
Mole: Great group today. There was no complaining or utilization of stall tactics by anyone. Got to call out Splack for really motivating the group with his constant encouragement and positivity. Not sure what Sprockets does to get amped up in the morning, but the energizer bunny didn’t disappoint as he was the only one to complete all 4 rounds and did a lap around DZ before we all arrived. I think Boerewors took some comfort on the warm cement and watched Bounce rifle through 10 pull-ups in about 10 seconds (strong). Nemo, per usual, led from the front. We missed some familiar faces this morning as Geraldo was rucking 26 mi, Jet Fuel was carrying his new lady friend’s triathlon gear at Tri-Latta, and Hops, who I personally invited when I saw him at the Lodge on Thursday. Well done gentlemen.
