MARY: Strong work by all the pax mileage ranged from 5-7. Alf was able to complete a loop on horsey but was bummed that he both won and lost the challenge being back 5 minutes late with Astro pacing him back on the return to launch after doing his marathon training workout. Fleetwood, Hopper, Geraldo, Retread and YHC all turned around at various points on the greenway knowing our speed, my apologies for the wet and icy spots. Good thing this challenge likely won’t be called again for a few months. ANNOUNCEMENTS: None COT: Astro with the takeout.

Due to unforseen circumstances, YHC had to book it on the run in to not let him down. Several pax saw me running, thought to themselves that the Q was going to be late, and kept driving hoping for a 43 min workout. Nonetheless I arrived right on time
MUMBLECHATTER: Puddin held court with obscure movie references. Various other chatter from the braves, to church renovations, etc. Ensued. Most people did the burpees and some did the boat canoe. All in all a 3.3 mile beatdown was had. Site Qs were missed.

Don’t Make It Weird

Rinse & repeat to the top with Mary (LBC, H2H, Flutter, Dolly, etc) at the top of each stair climb and shoulders (merkins, diamond merkins, CDD) at the bottom.
One interesting set of shoulder exercises has been named The Roman Bath — partner 1 sits facing —>. Partner 2 planks facing <— (don’t doesn’t get weird) with feet on shoulder of P1. P1 does 10 shoulder press, then P2 does 10 decline merkins; then flapjack. When you reach the top deck, level 8, work you way back down, reversing the order of called exercises until time to return to launch. Mosey to AO for light stretching until 6:15. Date: 2025-01-27 AO: swole Q: flipper PAX: Unplugged, ickey_shuffle, Uncle Leo, Starch, The Worm, wildturkey, flipper FNGs: None COUNT: 7 The pitter-patter of rain striking the roof as I roused to my alarm at zero dark thirty made me want to return to the tender embrace of the fartsack. Knowing I was responsible for the beat-down this AM was probably the only thing which enabled keeping momentum and causing my feet to hit the floor. The next thought was “will I do this by myself” but I needn’t have feared as Unplugged and Uncle Leo were already warming up when I parked the truck at InVue, where the overhang would keep the PAX mostly dry. By 0530 another four PAX rolled in and arrayed their bells along the sidewalk and we were ready to rock and roll.
WARMUP: SSH, Swings, IW, Cleans, ST, Prying Squat. THE THANG: Full disclosure, YHC is writing this while at the office and struggling to remember the specific reps and sets we did. High volume cleans, Merkins, and Swings were had. Many PAX were mad at YHC and now my arms hurt, I hope the PAX’s do too.

It wasn’t until I showed up at 0512 that I checked Slack and realized they got cold / wet feet. Waited to make sure I was the only one and then Q jacked the route, not to the Paper Jam route that long time ago, but to the Flat Branch route and checked out the new Roundabout at Elm / Blakeney Heath / Bryant Farms.
A nice morning, despite some damp socks.

Let’s sharpen each other throughout this book and fulfill the challenge given in the intro to “gain greater value from saving and discussing each brief essay with a friend [F3!], family member… rather than binge reading”. Chapter 1 – Consider the end of life reflections on page 9 when considering work. Work can help with the PERMA framework but also can throw life priorities out of balance.
Chapter 2 – Giving of your time, talents, treasures (finances) can break the power of money and lead to true contentment. Proverbs 11:24 – “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds, unduly, but comes to poverty.“
Chapter 3 – Watch out for a flood of molasses! What does money mean to you? (Page 19-21) Money does not give us purpose, but can help fund our purpose!
