Great Q, Geraldo. Only way to beat the weather is to keep moving and ignore it.

Had heard the term #HairbandMile, but never knew what it was. Now I know.

Still questioning if the mosey back down the hill qualifies as “recovery”, but that’s probably a philosophical discussion for another day.

Welcome, Liberace, and welcome back Zombie. Hope to see you guys in the gloom again.

From the Exercise Lexicon:

Hairband Mile: A Mental Marathon with an Actual Run or Jogging Distance equal to or less than 1/4 mile. Named in honor of Hairband who claims to hate running but is secretly a closet runner. (Thanks Glass Joe in Charlotte South.)

The origin:
It was originally named by Zip-a-dee if I remember correctly (O2Dep) during my Q at Outland while doing a 4 corner type beatdown with half of a soccer field lap mixed in.
Knowing I never liked running I threw the laps in just to catch everyone off guard. Half a soccer field is not much though so I started hearing “What is this, a Hairband mile?!” For those that know Zip I am sure you can hear that mumblechatter coming from him.

After that any short, 1/4 mile or less, warm up/cool down/active recovery run was dubbed the Hairband mile. Glass Joe decided to get it added to the lexicon once it stuck.
