Watch the miles tick by

5:13 AM came and 9 men emerged from their cars into the brisk morning air ready for a 4 to 6 mile run.  YHC had contemplated heading to new ground, but decided that the tried and true path to S. Charlotte Middle was best with a 2 mile stint on the track to provide flexibility for the overall mileage.

At 5:16 AM with GPS watches locked in, we left the parking lot and didn’t look back.  Everyone was instructed to run at their own pace and enjoy the run.  That we did.

As usual, Frasier led the charge with Haggis, Fletch, and Turkey Leg hot on his trail.  The pace on the last stretch was teasing a 6 min/mile pace.  If that doesn’t put a burn in your lungs, I don’t know what will.  Nice work!

Welcome to DT FNG’s Wing(space)man and Stump Hugger!  Strong work out there brothers.  Keep coming out!

Thanks all for posting today.  It was a great run.

Thank you for having me and allowing me to run at my pace – Tclaps to brother Strange Brew for keeping me company and motivated!

Hard tempo on the track and then a mad dash back to base had my lungs a blaze. Lots of iron sharpening going on – definitely wouldnt have pushed as hard had it been a solo effort. Always thankful for the extra push out at devils turn – great lead HB.

Hey guys, I’ll be in South Charlotte for a few mornings the week of March 10th. Looking to join you on the 13th. What sort of pace is “at your own pace”? I typically run 5k’s in the 20-21 minute range…will I fit in?

Ok. The 6 minutes per mile stuff was sounding a little spunky. Sounds like it will be a fun time. “smoke boots” is such a fun phrase. : )
