YHC bailed the last time I had to q so this time I had to push through. Also considering that 1/4 of my BRR team was here there was a solid chance of twitter blast if it wasn’t hard enough.
We lost Gummy and he ended up doing 4 miles on his own. #Proud. The total mileage count was right at 3. Some of the Pax went farther because they were coming back to make sure that I was still coming.
Its always humbling to q at DMZ. Not sure if you knew this but its good to lead from the back. Saw some guys that I hadn’t seen in a while and some new faces. Its good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes and post where you haven’t been lately.

In all seriousness it was a good way to start off the week and a good group out there. Everyone is really getting faster and really pushing each other which is what it was all about.

Bushwood – thanks for the opportunity to lead and thanks for taking us out.

Southern Discomfort this weekend. Its going to be a solid one and there will surely be some Spillage of Merlot at some point.

“Bailed” fails to do it justice. “Bailed” as in “bruised my hip by falling on a golf ball”, which might be my favorite excuse yet for someone missing a Q. Despite taking the Gummy-approach to the DMZ Q-spot, you managed to “lead” a good workout. Merkins at the dang triangle heading down to the club were uncomfortable. You also failed to mention that the “100 arm presses” were from the peoples chair (twice), and your Q highlight during 3 MoM at the end #changeup.

Hearty welcome to the group of guys from the deeper south, I think of it as the Alabama / Mississippi of A51, that apparently made the trip up to DMZ today. Ya’ll come back!

Benefactor and One Eye – after a 2-mile fellowship run (+/- 7:20 pace with Bushwood) – were up front all day. Speaking of the venerable site Q, Bushwood did a check of the Mountainbrook facilities, where members apparently don’t get a bathroom key #notaSnickersinthepool.

I think Semi bruised something other than his “hip”…

Just One Eye on the pre-run.

Great lead Semi-Gloss! BRR Team Jelly Legs was well represented with Semi, Kirk, Gummy, and YHC.

Yes, the bathrooms at Mountain Brook are locked. I’ll complain to management about that. Had to hit the woods for plan B. #FirstTimeForEverything

Oops. Bad planning by me led to a mostly solo workout. I had to double back to grab some sugar (literally) since I forgot to eat after taking insulin. I got in at least an extra mile, plus did about 100 reps of merkins and LBCs as I roamed the lonely hills of Mountainbrook.

Kirk, I sense that your comment about the “Gummy-approach” to the Q at DMZ is meant negatively. But maybe you mean: despite being slower than 75% of the people at DMZ, you still aren’t afraid to “lead”.

I didn’t catch the name of the guy I raced back to the church, but I think it hurt him as badly as it did me. That was way faster than I ran on my own. Good stuff.

Quite to the contrary. I was referencing the structure, wherein each of you – coincidentally returning from injury – attempted to have OYO elements to challenge pax of all speeds / fitness levels. I believe the quotation marks were read as intended, with only the slightest bit of derision #firewood, meant to foster future competition.

Moutainbrook? That’s pretty creative – what a great choice of AO’s. Wish I could have been there Semi Gloss.
