“Tuck Sucks”

Date: 2025-09-06 AO: davinci Q: tuck PAX: C3P0 FNGs: None COUNT: 2 Small… I wanna say “group”… got together for 60 minutes for what is called a “bootcamp” but without boots and nothing like any camp I ever attended. Franky aka covid-boy showed up but went on a stroll by himself as he recovers. That left C3P0 and I to conquer the gloom alone, which we did. :white_check_mark: We ran to a hidden field that has frisbee golf stations in Landen Meadows and back which was just under 4 miles. Along the way we traded off and built a pyramid of exercises. Sure, I could explain exactly what that means but I’m not going to for personal reasons. We also added in 6 strides near the end. At one point my compatriot exclaimed “Tuck Sucks”, which rhymes and also happens to be true. One thing that I wanted to mention is that I sweat my ass off and made a huge mess of the entire area. Crews had to be called in to remediate the situation. Very strong work and fellowship by C3P0 . He may not realize this but he changed my life that day. No joke. Well actually I am joking but he’s a swell guy and I’d venture into the gloom with him anytime.

THE THANG: We took to the well-lit streets of Ballantyne for a 3.1 mile ruck. Stopped at The Four Pillars to read the plaque and learn about The Human Spirit. If you’re curious, the other 3 pillars are Finance, Transportation, and Technology. Thanks Google. Speaking of Google; I mapped our route using Maps, which apparently assumes I walk at the pace of a lost toddler. We headed to The Bowl, through the leaky tunnel of love, followed a dirt path into a mini forest, and still made it back with enough time to do a lap around the parking lot. All PAX made it back safe and my first Q is in the books. Thanks for all the support and praise! MARY: Who is she? (Still learning the lexicon) ANNOUNCEMENTS: Don’t remember. Check out wingman’s backblast for the-brave. COT: Good luck to everyone participating in the Mountaineer Rumble this weekend!!

More Shenanigans at Swift

Date: 2025-09-09 AO: swift Q: midriff PAX: Mistake, frasier, gumbo, citgo, bunker, bratwurst, soft_pretzel, madison, Gutter Guard, teddyf3 FNGs: None COUNT: 11 WARMUP: Disclaimer this will be a “taper-friendly” workout (and paper-friendly) with pax coming off BRR and pax running Mountain Rumble this weekend. Run towards ESPN building for some dynamic warmup, mixing in some bunny hops and lunges.
THE THANG: Split PAX into two teams, for some interval running competition. At this point the focused marathon/half-marathon runners caught wind of the shenanigans about to ensue and decided to run their own intervals around the Bull Ring.
Track #1: Pax 1 sprints a circle around the office building, while rest of the team Indian runs in one direction, passing the “baton” (blinking wristband courtesy of bratwurst) to the next pax. First team to have all three runners circle the building wins the round. Each runner ended up sprinting closer to .3/.4 miles to catch up to the rest of the team. Team 1: YHC, Gutter Guard and madison take the first round.
Track #2: Shorten the lap around building #2 by having rest of the team Indian run in the opposite direction. Each pax runs two laps. Team 1 wins the round!
Track #3: Swap teddyf3 with madison for Capture the Cones. Set up 16 cones on each end of a 50-meter straightaway. Team who ends with more cones in their corner wins the game. Four intervals: 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds and 120 seconds with 30 seconds rest in between. Team 2 wins this round (bratwurst soft_pretzel madison), although bratwurst may have been taking more than one cone on each sprint :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Track #4: Similar to track #2 but on the entire bull ring. Intercept the marathon runners for our final competition. In the end, Team 1 finished with 57 points and Team 2 finished with 34 points.
MARY: We watched Bagpipers do some.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mountain Rumble this weekend, Just for Kicks Ultra 5k first Saturday in October, Terror Trails 50k in October. Sign up and so a hard thing to push yourself to new greatness.
COT: Prayers for kirby’s Dad who has another serious procedure on the horizon. Prayers for strength and wisdom as we navigate challenges ahead of us.
