Shall we hug it out or get to work?

Beautiful morning to put in the Friday downpainment.  Despite their best judgement 25 strong posted at one of the strongest AOs in the land.  Some good mumblechatter to start things off, primarily poking the bear.  And so it began….

circle up where we stand.

COP

  • SSH x 20 IC
  • Merkins x 15 IC…hold…
  • Diamonds x 6 IC (literally had to save face here #armfailure)
  • IW x 15 IC
  • LS jump squat x 15 IC
  • Plank series ( 2 mins): high, elbows (Chilcutt), high, 6 inches
  • 10 HR double merkin burpees

mosey to front of CC stairs, partner up with like-size

Stair circuit

  • Wheelbarrow up stairs and around ramp (flapjack)
  • 25 handslap partner merkins
  • bunnyhop up stairs and broad jump down ramp

mosey across 51…..5k pace down to Greenway for circuit (1/2 mile)….Flutter x 25 IC for 6

Greenway circuit

  • 5 pullups into 5 knee-ups
  • 10 HR burpees
  • 20 merkins……run to Greenway entrace (75 yds and back)…rinse and repeat x 4

Mary to wait for 6 to finish:

  • Dolly x 20 IC…hold….
  • Protractor (various degrees per callouts to Pax)….10 count to finish courtesy of Mermaid (poor choice by Q, felt like a 20 ct)

fast mosey back up 51 to road leading to Palatine Hill

  • Two lines for Indian Run to Palatine; crunched for time and heckled by Pax as too close to Hill for run……screw it….AYG!!!!

Grab some curb at base of Palatine

  • Incline merkins until Q says stop (2 mins)

Gather up and fast mosey back to launch to make it back at 6:16….lets not end it quite yet….5 HR burpees OYO….DONE

COT

Moleskinny

A lot of Q hazing last night via Twitter from the likes of Purple Haze and Chelms. Something about this likely to be easy and such; so tried to deliver an appropriate beatdown.  Q harrasment continued in the COP; Chelms not a fan of stationary work…aka plank series….felt it was a nod to Runstopper’s wheelhouse.  Maybe, maybe not.  We got on the move after the stair/ramp work and didn’t slow down.

This AO brings out the best of the best in A51 and our resident Metro stud Checkpoint. Effort was strong and held true for the duration.  Several Larry Birds on the 5k pace as well as the circuit work. I caught some slack for the merkins and HR burpees in the mud, but oh well…you get what i serve and like it!!!  Nobody slowed down and pushed hard throughout the circuit.

Kotters to several today including Red Rocks and Plebe.  Solid work put in men.

BOM – always meaningful takeout courtesy of Hops

Deep Thoughts and observations:

  • Runstopper graced us with his summer legs today #notights
  • Boutique dresses to the 9s even for workouts
  • Chelms likes to show his abs during COT
  • Rip Curl puts in the effort
  • Our #respect crew truly deserves it….centurion strong
  • Pebbles has run and gun
  • Ickey saved me with the assist on the watch, mine died

Announcements:

  • signup for F3 golf
  • Ballantyne HDHH on 4/22 at Duckworth’s
  • BRR wait list see Baracus

I missed the invitation for a hug but glad I did (unless PH was dishing them out). This was another solid workout with the pullups/HR burpee/merkin/run combo especially nasty.

The age differential was from high 20’s (Dear Abbeey – Hate Hate) all the way up to 53 but I gotta say – the young guys are losing. Time to get serious and step it up.

Next week will be my last Q before RESPECT so be prepared/forewarned.

Finally, send me email if its time for you to Q. pchepul@gmail.com

Another solid beatdown Brushback. Saw a good bit of scenery around the expanded AO and did some hard work. Definitely a varsity weinke that did not disappoint. Great crew out today and real nice to see some guys back in the gloom after the winter hibernation/injury recovery/etc.

Felt a strong pull from the parking deck as we ran by. Like winning the AO lottery right there men.

Great reference to winning the lottery – that deck is going to dish out a LOT of pain in the future.

Great to see Toucan back out today at Centurion after his first post at Champagne’s angry Q at Anvil Wednesday. Great work today. Keep coming back out and joining us.

Maybe she was PH’s new girl friend looking for him to “get busy” in the kitchen with the broom?

all you need now is some permanent fixture pull up bars in the deck donated to the board (runstopper).

The Centurion record for shortest distance run from launch to COP stood for only a week. #Unfortunate I’m confident that my Centurion record for least amount of running during the entire workout will be in the Rose/Ripken/DiMaggio realm however. #Untouchable
