Pre-draft work-out in the swamplands of Area 51

12 PAX decided to show up at the AO of Area 51 for a Saturday morning kick off to the weekend and were greeted with more typical spring like conditions.  Callaway herded up the crew and led them over to the soccer fields where Joker had set up the stations for Area 51 on campus work-outs for upcoming draft.

Circle up in the parking lot for COP:

  • SSH x 20 (IC)
  • Squats x 20 (IC)
  • IW x 20 (IC)
  • Merkins x 20 (IC)

Line up on one side of parking lot for Sprints:

  • Rd 1 – 5 Incline Merkins, Sprint across lot, 5 Decline Merkins, Sprint back
  • Rd 2 – 5 Squats, Sprint, 5 Squats, Sprint back
  • Rd 3 – 10 Incline Merkins, Sprint, 10 Decline Merkins, Sprint back
  • Rd 4 – 10 Squats, Sprint, 10 Squats, Sprint back
  • Rd 5 – 15 Incline Merkins, Sprint, 15 Decline Merkins, Sprint back
  • Rd 6 – 15 Squats, Sprint, 15 Squats, Sprint back

Mosey over to Cones for Broad Jump Competition:

  • Separate into 3 groups.  Everyone warm up with standing broad jump.
  • Groups line up and each member executes standing broad jump.  Group winners advance to finals.
  • Group winners execute standing broad jump.  Due to lack of electronic measuring equipment, finals declared a tie.

Jog to goal line of Soccer Fields for Field Work:

  • Shuffle 50 yards, 50% Jog back
  • Shuffle 50 yards (facing other direction), 50% Jog back
  • Karaoke down, Jog back
  • Karaoke down (facing other direction), Jog back
  • Back Pedal, Jog back
  • High knees, Jog back
  • Butt Kickers, Jog back
  • AYG sprint 50 yards, jog back
  • AYG sprint 50 yards, jog back

Circle up in parking lot for 6 MOM:

  • Flutter x 20
  • Dolly x 20
  • LBCs x 20
  • CDD x 20

Abacus takes over for 2nd half:

Jog over to rock pile & pick out a rock (size does matter as PAX will be on move).  Head back to high end of soccer fields and line up on sideline:

  • 5 rock curls, jog 25-30 yards w/ rock, 10 rock curls, drop rock, jog 25-30 yards, jog back to rock, 15 rock curls, jog back to starting point w/ rock
  • 5/10/15 goblet squats w/ rock
  • 5/10/15 push presses with rock
  • 5/10/15 triceps extensions w/ rock

Return rock to rock pile and head over to the school:

  • PC x 60 sec (w/ arms out front, arms over head)
  • Lunge walk to sidewalk
  • PC x 60 sec (w/ 25 air presses)
  • Lunge walk to sidewalk

Head over to playground for a little circuit training (Plank it up in between rounds)

  • Rd 1 – 10 pull-ups, 20 dips, 20 incline merkins
  • Rd 2 – 10 pull-ups, 20 dips, 20 decline merkins
  • Rd 3 – 10 pull-ups, 20 dips, 10 burpees

Mosey over to parking lot and circle up for 6 MOM:

  • Dolly x 20 (IC), hold’em (10 Count from Far Side)
  • Flutter x 20 (IC), hold’em (10 Count from Slapshot)
  • Rosalita x 20 (IC), hold’em (10 Count from Salt Lick)
  • LBCs x 25 (IC)



  • With the return of normal early spring temps, nice turnout after the past week and a half of snow, ice, and rain.  YHC is definitely ready for spring and some drier conditions.  Soccer fields were still a bit soggy from all the wet weather we have had lately.
  • Joker originally planned a NFL draft combine type workout for the PAX.  However with the wet conditions he had to shorten up the playbook and audible number of planned activities.
  • Strong work by all the PAX.  Stayed in a limited area of the campus and still able to put in a good morning’s work.


  • Final sign-ups for GRR in March.  Large F3 contingent will be taking part.
  • Looking for 7-8 for final Area 51 BRR team scheduled for the fall.  Team of 12 will run 200+ miles (each team member runs 15-18 miles over course of two days).  Highly recommended 2nd F opportunity.
