9 Men braved the rain and lighting this morning for gear workout that got the heart pumping.
Warm-up
Since it wasn’t raining when we started we took a lap around the block then stopped by the car to get some Kettlebells. Not the kind of KB Bottlecap uses. Down for some covering at the church pavilion.
SSH x 30
MTC x 20
Squats x 20
The Thang
Not the typical workout I like to lead so we made the most of it. The floor was a little wet and really slippery. KB and DB are courtesy of a collection from Transporter, Frack, and myself.

Moleskin
I was thinking we could get through most if not all of it. I miss judged how hard it would be. We skipped 15 rep and 5 rep rounds. We ended with 60 seconds of burpees. Still can’t believe some our normal pax went to another state for a workout. Your loss I guess!
I had Glida and Transporter on each side of me slinging around the 40lb KB like cupcakes.
After Shake n Bake’s nasty fall at morning wood yesterday he came with his positive can do attitude today.
Haven’t seen Dana in a while so it was good to have him back.
I’m sure it was hard for Foundation to be at a workout without one of his LRC mates. I think he felt out of place.
Zin it’s always good to see you working hard and keeping the mood light hearted for the group.
Merlot was talking about the size of his KB and why it was so hard then realize he had one of the 40lb KB. Nice work today!
Gerber was also feeling out of place with a workout that was under a mile in distance. He was ready to go with his vest raincoat. I’m sure he will make up for it tomorrow at Swarm.
It’s a pleasure leading such a great group of guys. You all are the ones that make getting up at 4:30 easy. The workout is just an added benefit.
Everyone gets a trophy for showing up today. Good job guys, we’re all winners today!

Shopdog moving this weekend. Will need help loading Apt in Stonecrest and unloading in Millbridge. Starts at 8:30. Good to have Shop back in the area.
7 guys got tricked into showing up at The Arsenal. Very slick gracious move by the Site Q (Happy Meal) to beg invite YHC to Q and then purposely not show up but unfortunately he was sick and couldn’t post. With the horrible forecast, I was not sure what to expect but got good news when a few HCs popped up on Waxhaw’s famed GroupMe Playhouse. Due to how whiny those Waxhaw PAX are the rain, YHC did a site visit last night and found a LONNNNNNNG covered area. Showed up this morning to drop off some coupons at that covered area but got chased away by the Bus maintenance crew Chastain and Brutus (why were you lurking in the bus lot?).

After the Devotional, the Pax warmed up with the 8 Pieces of Brocade (Ba Dua Jin) Qi Gong forms and strengthened our energy flow. YHC overdid it and needed a “10 count” after a couple of Gi Gong forms. 😊
After the warm-up we went into the sun salutation yoga flow and ended with the always popular Pigeon pose. Next time we try for King Pigeon.
Great work by all Pax. It was an honor to lead.

A few weeks ago, Transporter asked me to head southeast of the border and Q a gear workout called Chisled. I have familiarity with most of the Waxhaw AOs as I was one of the Journeyman Challenge(we should do this again sometime) winners during the summer of 2018 but it seems 5 Stones is newer to the AO game.
Through some texts with Rudy this week, I learned that the Asylum pax keep all their gear at the AO which was a new concept to someone who has always lugged kettlebells to every gear workout I go to. I arrived a little after 5 and had Rudy show me everything and setup. Definitely a lot of good stuff to work with; kettlebells, sandbags, dumbells, bricks, cinder blocks, tires, and weight plates. Pax rolled in and we had 13 ready to go at 530, one rolled in about 5 minutes later during the warmup.
Disclaimer
Quick warmup lap around the parking lot.

Done!
When incorporating rocks or cinders I usually do that at the beginning of the workout. This morning I switched it up and saved that for the end. My arms were toast at that point (am I the only one?) and the struggle to get in 150 reps was real! Lesson learned! Thanks for the great push by everyone and thank you for the opportunity to Q. It’s an honor each time I get to lead this group of great men.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
We all seemed to start on a happy note but as we took the COT photo before even starting it’s like some bad juju was in the air. We take off into the pitch dark….
BANG….Chastain with shin splints. BOOM….Carb Load’s recovering from back issues. FAAaAAARRRRTTTT…..and I’ve gotta poop. Which leads me to the title of my BB. Somewhere along the trail in American flag bandana. Just leave it there as it was used in a crime.
When i got back off the trail Chastain and Carb Load were counting in cadence between the two homes in Millbridge. Something tells me they won’t be invited over for supper anytime soon.
I’m sure the rest of the fellas crushed the CTT. Happy morning wood everyone!
16 men took the ice in nearly 70 degree weather at Bushwood. DiCCS given (Disclaimer, Cell phone, CPR, Safety) with reminder to circle back for the 6 to lead Mary and to replace your divots.
Mosey to parking lot for “almost proper counting”
Mosey to neighborhood
Mosey back to campus only to find rock pile was covered with water

Line up for suicides
Grab some wall for One Star Hi-Jack
Closed it out with a fast paced mosey back to COT and finished up with 18 speed skaters.
Done!
MOLESKIN:
Spring was briefly in the air at Bushwood but I was too anxious to notice. I wasn’t sure what to expect regarding turnout and my goal was to simply get through the workout with minimal mistakes etc. (copied from Lazyboy’s last backblast). I took us out #cradletograve. Thanks to those who circled back for the six, lead Mary etc.
