The Pink Bedroom Light

A veteran crew of 7 showed total disregard to the forecast for the first #F3FastTwitch workout of 2017. YHC gave quick summary of workout before departure.

THANG
Run to Arboretum and cross 51 to Arboretum View. Quick stop for 10 Imperial Walkers (IC). Continue on Arboretum View and hang left at end. Pass barrier wall and first Right on Swans Run Rd. Right on Amanda Lane and stop at loop. Run loop and perform 5 merkins at end. Continue running loops adding 5 merkins each time until 0555. Then run back to launch site.

MILEAGE
Run to Loop (2 miles)
Each Loop (.4 miles)
Run back (2 miles)

MOLESKIN
Strong work today with all PAX exceeding 6 miles. TL was the over-achiever with 7 laps. Before bed, YHC saw 100% chance of rain during the 0500 hour. The 48 degree temp and slight mist was perfect running weather. Lots of puddles to jump and maneuver. There was a shady pink light coming from a bedroom of an apartment on Swans Run. It served as a beacon to guide the PAX on the return home as there was some confusion on which street to turn on. There was also some excitement expressed when YHC said to stop at the McDonalds (Gummy). Great to lead this group. Thanks for the takeout Pro!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Joe Davis this weekend. Hopefully the show/ice will stay away

1) You should thank Gummy for the takeout. I just volunteered him.
2) Only one thing in the world could have dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window…and that was the promise of a mcgriddle.
3) I still don’t know how Turkey Leg didn’t lap us.
4) Proud to say that over 50% of the pax this morning were representing BRR team Flatnin The Hills. Got that HC from Margo during the warmup. Or was that just a Hard Cough?

Solid running workout Margo. Glad to be back at it. Felt every Christmas cookie and beer I drank over the last month this morning.

That was great start to FY17 (yes it took me two days to recover from New Years celebration). It’s no booze January for me – want to stop being the six (even Gummy was in front of me – damn).

TL was alternating recovery laps and sprints – otherwise he would have lapped us twice

Despite the “awesome weather” the whole run felt uphill. And I wasn’t even the one coughing and hacking, you’re a trooper Margo (I better not get sick). And yes I did notice your gazelle like leap over the big puddle on 51. Next time, I’m grabbing a McGriddle combo meal and knocking on the door of that pink glowing room to watch the party. Who’s with me?!

That was a meat and potatoes Fast Twitch – Running with a slight touch of merkins. Well, meat, potatoes and one house of ill repute. (is it weird that I went back there after we left COT?)

Great job coughing your way through that one Margo.

What’s worse than running around the SCMS 1/4 mile track? Running 2 miles to and from a .4 mile loop. There’s no hiding on that kind of run – have to keep up during the run to and from the loop. The loop was just long enough to be terrible, but too short to not push hard the whole way. Good stuff. Like every week, I run way harder at FT that I do by myself.

BRR team Flatnin’ the Hills is getting an early start on those seasonal running injuries. What are the odds that Chelms’ back, knees and foot all make hold up until September?

The body may not hold up but the mind will – just like when I ran leg 32 (nine miles) with plantar fasciitis. However, getting slightly wiser with age and thus my preference to stay at or below 15 miles (ok below 20).

I agree on the running harder part. It sucked but I kept pushing so no one would feel like they had to circle back to get me.
