Date: 2024-11-26 AO: 3rdf-timekeeper Q: citgo PAX: bratwurst, das_boot, frasier, soft_pretzel FNGs: None COUNT: 5 Good discussion on the topic of Gratitude and Thanksgiving. Few takeaways: 1. Change your gratitude perspective. Chose an attitude of gratitude no matter the circumstance. 2. Be grateful for the small things and gifts we experience daily. 3. Practice gratitude and thanksgiving! Great quote from the article – Ingratitude, like any sin, is a lion that grows when we feed it and shrivels when we don’t.
Application – Text the person to your right and share why you are thankful for them!

Rainy day at Davy Park

Date: 2024-11-26 AO: fast-twitch Q: Benny PAX: Alf, ductwork FNGs: None COUNT: 3 3 veteran pax decided to get better right the holidays even with the likelihood of rain coming.
WARMUP: Quick warmup to Davy park with talks about our holiday plans, Alf’s the smart one he has his family coming to town unlike YHC flying tomorrow and Ductwork flying later this morning. THE THANG: A Fast Twitch classic that hasn’t been done in awhile, run down to the back parking lot do 5 merkins, head toward the playground on the way back do 5 pull ups( Alf being a veteran said Benny kinda hard to find a spot to do pull ups here), 5 squats at the top entrance to the park. Plan was to rinse and repeat till 6 rain made it otherwise so audible to ending at 5:55 taking the long way back via the back entrance off of willow pine. MARY: None ANNOUNCEMENTS: Christmas Party December 8 at Geraldo’s COT: Ductwork with the strong take out.

Gobble ‘Til You Wobble

Date: 2024-11-26 AO: bagpipe Q: Roulette PAX: Starch, wildturkey, kirby, Hawkeye, Pilgrim, SweetWater, war_eagle FNGs: None COUNT: 8 The morning started like any good F3 beatdown should: in the dark, cold, and with the faint smell of regret in the air. The men of Bagpipe assembled to earn their turkey dinners, and let me tell you, they earned every bite. Here’s how it all went down:
Warm-Up: After the disclaimer (which SweetWater may or may not have listened to), we kicked things off with SSHs that sounded more like a broken marching band thanks to kirby mumblechatter. Pilgrim tried to keep the group focused, but when you’re leading a guy named wildturkey the day before Thanksgiving, chaos is inevitable.
The Thang: Mosey to the small park with the pond and the set of stairs.
The Thighs Before Pies Hawkeye and war_eagle took off on the stair runs like they were auditioning for Top Gun 3, leaving Starch behind to question all his life choices while holding a Bulgarian split squat. wildturkey powered through with the grace of a holiday bird who knew he’d dodged the chopping block, while SweetWater somehow managed to sneak in a nap between jump squats.
Partner 1: Runs to the top of the stairs and back (or ~40 yards out and back). Partner 2: Performs the following exercises AMRAP until Partner 1 returns: Jump Squats, Bulgarian Split Squats, Bonnie Blairs (Skater Lunge) Switch roles after each run. Complete 4 total rounds. Mosey up to the pavilion.
Stuff Your Core This is where things got real. Freddy Mercury turned into a contest of who could sing louder: kirby belting out Bohemian Rhapsody or Starch huffing like he was chasing an imaginary pie. Meanwhile, Pilgrim quietly crushed every rep, channeling his inner colonial warrior, and Hawkeye form was so perfect it made war_eagle pause mid-plank just to clap.
1 minute per movement with 30 sec rest between exercises. Flutter Kicks, Big Boy Sit-Ups, Plank Jacks, Freddy Mercury, American Hammers
Cardio Cranberry Sauce By now, wildturkey was in his element, sprinting like he had wings, while SweetWater found a “turkey trot” pace that could best be described as adventurous walking. Starch, determined to burn off an entire pumpkin pie in advance, pushed through burpees like a man possessed, while war_eagle reminded everyone why his nickname is also the mascot for “intense effort.”
Partner up again, 1st partner Turkey trot loop around the faux field at the pavilion. Rotate between cardio and stationary exercises. 2nd Partner perform the following exercises: 5x Merkins, Burpees, Carolina Dry Docks, Jumping Lunges Repeat the loop and cycle through the exercises 4 rounds.
Gravy Burn Finisher wildturkey powered through his curls with the grace of a bird dodging Thanksgiving, while SweetWater might’ve invented a new move—“curls with commentary.” Pilgrim worked in silence, turning his triceps into iron, while kirby made a case for pausing the workout to rename “Bonnie Blairs” into “Turkey Twists.”
Hawkeye, always consistent, made those floor presses look easy, leaving war_eagle to question whether he was lifting a coupon or a small car. Meanwhile, Starch alternated between solid core work and giving his partner a motivational speech, proving once again why F3 is about pushing yourself and the guy next to you.
By the end of the finisher, muscles were shaking, egos were bruised (looking at you, Kirby), and we were all ready for Circle of Trust—and a lot of mashed potatoes.
Partner up again for a high-intensity push. Alternate Coupon/Core work. Partner 1: 20x Core Exercise of choice 1st two round, 2nd two round lower body choice Partner 2: Performs: 20x Coupon Floor presses (Round 1), curls (Round 2), Overhead Press (Round 3), Triceps (Round 4)
Mary Omnipresent
Starch learned that Bulgarian split squats aren’t a food group. kirby may or may not have Googled “can Wild Turkey fly?” mid-workout. wildturkey reminded us all that Thanksgiving is about survival, one stair run at a time. Pilgrim silently carried the team with his unshakable focus and deadly form. Hawkeye burpee was so smooth it looked choreographed. war_eagle may have started humming Sweet Home Alabama during plank jacks. SweetWater continued to prove that effort (and napping between exercises) is all that matters. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Turkey Jam on Thursday, later 6:30 AM start for the-brave on Friday COT: YHC took us out, Remember to express some gratitude this week, prayers for The Worm and family

Why is it this cold out in November

Date: 2024-11-22 AO: joust Q: Benny PAX: hopper, Horsehead, Header, Focker, Limey, Dayz FNGs: None COUNT: 8 After a proper disclaimer given for the 8 pax who chose to not ignore the cold spell that has come to Charlotte YHC decided to chose the on campus option for todays venture(you can thank Chicken Wing using Horsey a few weeks ago). WARMUP: Quick Warmup over to the soccer field with lots of mumble chatter involving the Browns and Steelers game being played in the snow. Kind of made me remember qing at The Rock a couple years ago in the snow where it was such a crowd pleaser moment. After arriving at the field, a quick warump invovling various excercises like Imperial Walkers, Windmills and Low Slow Squats Occured. THE THANG: 11s on the soccer field, starting off with 1 merkin at the one end, 10 lbcs on the other end. Rinse and repeat till you get to 10 merkins and 1 lbc.
Upon looking at the clock, YHC realized that we still had a lot of time to kill. It only seemed fitting since Jack Webb made its presence known. we worked up to 4 slow merkins and 24 air presses then worked our way down. In the original wenkie the plan was to do Jack Webb on the concrete near the football stadium, your welcome for the veteran audible to not lead to pax discomfort.
After conquering Jack Webb, we made our way towards the picnic tables outside of the home section of the football stadium. Various exercises of Step Ups, Dips, and Derkins occurred 10 of each set completed two times. Afterwards we found some wall to get in some peoples chair air presses and in honor of our injured pax Geraldo balls to the wall happened before making our way towards the parking lot for Mary. MARY: Combination of LBCs, Flutter, Rosalita, and most of the pax calling an excercise to get through 7 minutes of Mary. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Thoughts and prayers to Geraldo who is likely on IR for awhile, and to Horsehead mentioning a friend of his that used to post at F3 workouts going through some difficult times with his health right now. COT: Hopper with the strong takeout, it was what Hops would consider a proper bootcamp. Mileage was right around 2 miles give or take, just enough running to warm up relative quickly but not so much where it was considered a running bootcamp day. Last time I q’d Joust it was just myself and WaterWorks so was very happy to have a solid crew for yesterdays beatdown.
