And at 515. it looked doubtful that all the iPhoners (who prefer soy milk to the real thing) that HC’d would actually make it the 3 miles to CCS, but by the crack of 5:23 we had lights and a game going. Initially, I thought the game was a lock for yellow. Two easy turnovers near their own endzone had Pink down 2 within 3 minutes. But the rout was not on, the Shank and Paris combination influenced the game, with paris remaining wide open on the under all morning long. Newcomers/visitors @Martha and @Burgandy were impactful this morning. @Martha proved his claim that he’d played before and was more proficient than most of the regulars slinging the forehand around. @burgandy hustled from endline to endline, and we hope y’all make it back out next time you are in town. At one point in the game, Crawdad remarked along the lines that “Shank was on me and I was open [for a score], I am not sure what I would do if I did score”. The answer there is to spike it or show him the disc – granted I (MARTA) never expect to be in said situation. SIDEBAR: There was a moment about 2 years ago where I out juked sweeney_todd in the endzone but did not get the disc – I was upset. To this day, that hasn’t happened again and probably won’t. So I can empathize. @YHC took every opportunity to heckle @bullystick this morning, as he decided to guard me, a spry gentleman about 21 years his elder – I guess since Fly with me is out traveling US – I was the next best proxy. After his buzz cut I hardly recognized him. I just hope his parents aren’t sending him off to military school. Needless to say, I merely commented that his deep throws are lacking for a man of his experience… he made it clear that his turnovers were not due to his throws but from drops… Gents, we need to educate him on the fine art of leadership. It went to ultimate point, which was back and forth. After laying an absolute dime of huck mere minutes before, Fruity’s inside out backhand trained too far away of a receiver to fall helplessly out of bounds at the goal line. Yellow methodically worked it up the field and patiently placed it in the endzone. The better side had prevailed. SIDEBAR No. 2: Seemed like the Joust PAX were circling the field itching to play. Maybe one day spackles will step up to the big leagues and sling it on Fridays.
Shoutouts from my perspective Spyglass and Wario had good games. Touched the disc a lot – few turnovers. Shank got the best of Yeti in the air most of the game… but thanks for the lights. Quote of the Day: “Humility – it’s something to be proud of” – that said I threw 7 scores and caught 2 – had to get that in since I’m a jerk.
