Barcodes on Norwegian Ships Type Workout

Date: 2025-10-25 AO: olympus Q: Krzyzewski PAX: voodoo, The Worm, taggart, Emoji, ickey_shuffle, Pepsi FNGs: None COUNT: 7 Upon the backdrop of a chilly gloom, this morning we laid to rest the final beatdown of the hallowed Norwegian spreadsheet. Bittersweet, but mostly bitter, was the occasion, but any potential sadness was swiftly curbed by the double KB weinke. True to form, this latest iteration of Norse athletics left most of us smoked by the fourth set, but definitely stronger. That said, the true treasure was the VO2 max gains we made along the way. Oddly enough, doubles notwithstanding, YHC warmed up to this one as the weeks wore on – perhaps we can keep up the tempo in some other form? We’ll see. For now, we’ll put this one in the rearview. Grateful, as always, for all of the pax that continue to turn out each week and support our coterie of gearheads with intensity, solid mumblechatter, and, yes, selfie sticks for boyband shots. Fantastic work, gentlemen. Let’s get into the recap… WARMUP: Swings (10x), prying squats, hi-pulls (5x e/s), synovial circles, one-handed swings (5x e/s), slingshots (7x e/w) THE THANG: 1) Voodoo / Hoodoo Complex EMOM (4 sets) – Voodoo complex (1x e/s each min.; 2 sets) – Hoodoo complex (1x e/s each min.; 2 sets) 2) Norwegian 4×4 w/ Double Bells! So today was a redo for YHC. I did this workout solo a few weeks ago and put it above my visor for a rainy day. No rain, but it was nice having a workout preplanned
teddyf3 making the drive from his new Fort Mill home, was fighting all day. Bragging about his chile from last night, it was begging to come out this am. We were all surprised by his “Dragon Breath” that he let escape during Mary… bold move soldier!
ToeJam was ready to go. Always light on and it always comes in handy. Crushed the sandbag today… some might say he needed to go heavier?!
Starch after lack of sleep he decided to do the harder thing. He broke away from the warmth and posted. Well deserved nap later, as he still has a troublesome little one… welcome to life with a kid
wildturkey so I may have have “suggested” that Turkey needed his heavier bag today and I will expect a thank you note later. He crushed the workout and told us a few Dad jokes along the way!
It was a cool but great morning to be in the gloom. Glad I got to redo this workout with the Pax. Not easy, but not that bad.
Oh, get your Lola blankets for Xmas … ToeJam highly recomends!
Great job, enjoy the day!

We replaced lunges with reverse lunges – 5th – same as 1st rock pile exercises – 6th – abbreviated, running out of time
@teddy got a little too brave at the-brave and left the Pax high and dry 3 minutes before the workout finished. I will forever guard against this next time I am Q. #neverforget
Great to have Taco_Stand back out today. Hope to see the rest of Yall out next week.

THE THANG: Mosey to the track for the announcement of the World’s Toughest Mile (or something like that). Simple concept, tough to do. Starting at the 50 yd line, work around the track to the other side (1/8 of a mile), completing the exercise for that segment: 1. Burpee Broad Jump 2. Bear Crawl 3. Lunge Walk 4. Run Rinse and repeat to complete the mile. Goal was to put forth the effort and hold off modifying until absolutely necessary. The PAX made it to 1/2 mile, completing all 4 segments but ran out of time. Added 3 minutes of Burpee Broad Jumps at the end. You are welcome…
