New year, New Us

10.23.26 - New Year, New Us Pregame: Quite a few surprise shows this morning to get us upwards of 20+. Some were too flippant to commit, others were not in the text chain, & others still refuse to get iPhones. All of the above are considered non-excused & subject to disciplinary action. Weather was nippy, ideal conditions for frESPY winner Betty to start showing off all of his cool apparel. The Game: Teams appeared to be relatively even on paper. NOT SO FAST. Toad, Fly With Me & Misty came out absolutely humming. Mrs. Doubtfire & Marta exchanged haymakers all day. Spy wanted in on the Marta action, getting a nice turnover on a lackadaisical pass attempt. Marta’s sharpness noticeable increased from there, returning the favor a few plays later, with a bonus flagrant sack tap seen & heard by a few witnesses. Only 1 noted mispronunciation of Bevo, a nice improvment from recent weeks. Yellow stormed out to a 6-1 lead early. Red needed to find a way to stop the momentum. Out of timeouts, red found the solution with Biden allegedly cutting Aioli’s cleat, causing him a flat tire & halting game play. With Aioli sacrificing his availability in the effort to stop momentum, the strategy proved to be a good one with red immediately going on a run of its own to tie it 7-7. Lead by a recently invigorated Shank (fueled by getting zero first place votes for MVP in the recent frESPYS voting), yellow went hammer down & responded with a run of its own. The final score appeared closer than it was, with yellow cruising to a comfortable dub to start the year. Spy, Fly With Me, Fruity & Bevo were members of the exclusive #4mileclub this morning. Postgame: Prayers for Zippers family, as his father-in-law passed unexpectedly last night. Prayers for Hitch’s aunt who may need a heart transplant.
