WOMU The Boys are Back in Town

12 PAX hit the pitch this morning for a cool, breezy 6v6 edition of Wednesday Old Man Ultimate. 🟠 Orange: Blanks, Smokey, Pepsi, Mountain Momma, Fresh Meat, Shirley 🟡 Yellow: Peaches, Wonder, Cayman, Mule, Chunks, Broken Arrow The cooler temps felt great. The wind? Not so much. It basically served as the 7th defender for both teams all morning. From the opening pull, it was turnover after turnover after turnover. Orange gets it. Yellow gets it. Orange gets it back. Yellow gets it back. Somebody launches one deep… wind says NOPE. Back and forth we went for a while before Yellow finally broke through. Once they did, they started putting points on the board. Yellow built about a five-point cushion, and while Orange kept battling, that lead proved to be too much to overcome. Mountain Momma made his return to the pitch after dealing with knee issues for what seems like forever. Great to see him back out there, moving well and jumping right into the action. Wonder was all over the field, hustling and pulling down some fantastic catches. The wind made the deep ball an adventure all morning, and with 12 guys packed onto the field, there wasn’t much open real estate anywhere. Final was somewhere in the neighborhood of 10–5 Yellow. YHC was apparently too busy trying to breathe to keep an official scorebook.
