All the places

THE THANG: Jump rope tour of Ballantyne. We stopped regularly while one guy did 75 jump ropes and remaining PAX did called exercise. We ran up and over the stars, visited the rockpile behind the nail place for rocks with friends, ran up the hill to the play structure for some L hangs, and hit the playground near Jeni’s for some explosive merkins.
COT: Great work out there this morning gents. Thanks for showing up today (not a jab at Cheese Curd for missing his Q Saturday) and for the great take out by Point Break which was also not a jab at Cheese Curd for missing his Q on Saturday. Looking forward to tomorrow’s Q at Bagpipe where Hawkeye has agreed to give directions when YHC gets us all lost.

The Lasso

Three took to the streets up Rea Rd eventually circling the theater at Stonecrest and return back to the launch. Great work out there today. COT: Circuit City took us out – have Hippie’s wife in your prayers she tweaked her knee skiing and we are praying it is not a serious injury.

Better Late Than Never

Date: 2025-01-17 AO: centurion Q: Rawhide PAX: Snuka, lorax, Point Break, Bully Stick FNGs: None COUNT: 5 WARMUP: Partner work at the picnic tables. Dips or step-ups, then run to meet your partner on the other side of the building for partner dirkens or leg throws.
THE THANG: Pairs to get a total of 200 LBCs, dips, and incline merkins. One does the exercises while the other goes around the building. Next up…bench curls.
MARY: Bridge pose with our heels raised for about a minute.

WTF is happening on 4/12!!!!!

That’s right! WTF is back again for the Fifth year in a row!

For those of you that did not make it previous years, or are unaware of what WTF is… Here are the basics:

Waxhaw Trail Fest will take place on Saturday April 12th. Registration is done as an individual, and race directors will assign you to a team based on average pace to keep all teams competitive. This is a trail run, relay style on 3 different trail loops setup at Cuthbertson Middle School in Waxhaw NC. The loops all start and stop at the WTF village where you and your fellow PAX can relax and enjoy some 2nd F until your next leg.  For the Standard Relay option, the race is complete when each member of your team runs each loop once, totaling approx 13 miles per runner. Like last year, we are adding an alternate Relay Lite option for those that may not be able to commit to the full time, or don’t feel confident in the total distance. Relay Lite is still a team of 3, however each runner only completes one loop, and the team’s total distance will be 13 miles. The Solo option is a free-for-all. You can run/walk/ruck any or all loops to accommodate your own schedule and running capabilities.

Registration is $30– This will include the one and only WTF T-shirt, entry into either distance option, food, snacks and hydration throughout the event.

Awards given to top overall team in the Standard relay, as well as the annual hand off of the sought after WTF Trophy

Every registered runner will get an email with updated Team information prior to the event, in addition to packet pickup information for the morning of the event.

In the village we will provide music, coffee, hydration, a BBQ grill setup with a selection of food, including sandwiches, chicken, burgers, and bacon and eggs. Please bring your own chairs and a team canopy if desired. Any team snacks or preferred drinks are up to each team.

All extra money raised will be held for donation. Previous years we raised money for Cuthbertson school as well as the family of our fallen brother Ex-Lax.

Spread the word. Open to all. We have had many great WTF events over the past 4 years, and this year is shaping up to be even bigger!

4x4x48 (3/7 – 3/9)

It’s about that time of year again, where some of the completely stupid show off just how far we are willing to go to prove it!

4x4x48 is a simple concept:

4 miles – every 4 hours – for 48 hours

We have done this in year’s past and had a “great” time pushing each other to continue on. This year with so many Waxhaw PAX planning for GTE, we figured we would change it up slightly to allow more PAX to join in and be stupid together!

The new rules will go as follows:

4 miles – OR – 45 mins of rucking – every 4 hours – for 48 hours.

This will give you options you can choose or mix up throughout the 48hrs. We will be completing the first and last together as a group, and it will be a 4 mile route in downtown Waxhaw. All others are to be completed on your own, or reach out to others to have them join you, but only the first and last will have a scheduled meet up location and route. The schedule will go as follows:

These times are approximate and meant to keep you on track, however if you have a conflict, just ensure to get your run/ruck/ in before the 4 hour window expires and get back on track.

Easy Saturday morning run….

Misty Mountains and Marathon Miles

Date: 2025-02-01 AO: chicken-run Q: midriff PAX: kirby, Franky, jrr_tolkien FNGs: None COUNT: 4 North on Rea to the flooded greenway by Trader Joe’s. Passed retread and other F3 pax. Ventured off course and contemplated crossing Johnston/485 iso Stonehenge pax.
At the end of the day we got 13++ miles, took in a beautiful sunrise and enjoyed a few parking lot beverages before CFA
