Replacements Are Replacements For A Reason

Its was a beautiful morning, the weather was a cool 56 degrees and the full moon was out which should of been a sign of things to come for this Q.  12 of your finest came out in support and trying to outshine the Q the replacements site Q’s made it known that it was 5:30 and instructions needed to begin.

A short run over to the theatre and the beautiful crescendo of the caddice began!

15 SSH

15 LSS

20 MC

30 Merks

The Thang:

Run to the fountain – partner up.

100 Dips

100 Derks

100 Step Ups

Partner laps

Those who are speeder then other got the group together for some LBC’s

This Q though it was a good idea to keep the partner theme going, despite the reluctancy of some. And as we moseyed over to the rock creek apartments I noticed that said replacement Q’s were running in the front of the pack instead of watching the FNG and back.  None the less, we got to our destination and the Q instructed half the crew to climb down a 40ft ravine to capture a lifting rock.  Partnerships continued:

100 Thrusters

100 Curls

100 LBC’s

Parter laps uphill and around apartments

Mosey to the steppest part of the hills the PAX got a little squirrel when asked to climb the mountain with partner resistance – after repeating himself 4-5 X the PAX finally conjured and we executed:

20 donkey kicks

1 lap up the mountain with partner resistance

5 hand slap Merks at the top

20 donkey kicks

1 partner switch lap up the mountain with partner resistance

5 hand slap Merks at the top

20 donkey kicks

Replacement site Q’s upset about the unorthodox exercise tried to take over the Q’s WO to be quickly put in place and over shadowed by the PAX Indian run back to site for some quick circle pushes.

All in all this Q gave himself a B+ grade.  In hind site patterning up the whole 45mins isn’t for all.  Some like to sweat on their own and its commendable.  Shrink Wrap and Tattle Take (Tagalong) were the only thing holding this work out back. Their replacement of Cheddar and Commish were graded at a C-.   Its the very reason why site Q’s are picked for a reason – some people are just not cut out for the job.

You Got To Know When To Hold Em – Know When To Fold Em

11 PAX made it out for Friday’s Fight Club for some unorthodox training.  This Q decided to have a little fun with a deck of cards, making sure each PAX earned their weekend beers. 5:30am bell rang, disclaimers given and we were off and running.

1 lap around the school to get the heart rate up and we circled up for a game of suicide cards.

The Thang

1 Deck of cards – Each suite a different exercise, corresponding number for reps

  • Hearts = Merckan’s = 84 total
  • Spades = Side Straddle Steps = 84 total
  • Diamonds = Squats = 84 total
  • Clubs = LBC = 84 total
  • ACE = Burpees = 44 total

1/2 Deck complete – PAX complaining, time to mosey to the white boxes for some sparring

  • (6) 2:00min Rounds – 30sec breaks
  • Get knocked out of the box complete 5 merckan’s

PAX headed back to the front for the remainder of the deck of cards

Finished off with a little rope and foot training, followed by some Chippy abs

All in all, when you hear the PAX huffing and puffing you know you kicked their asses.  A few highlights  to note along the way:

  • Luggie, caught wind of the card game and showed up 20mins late
  • Tagalong, came with his usual A game and had impeccable form
  • Shrinkwrap, must of like the game ‘King of the Mountain’ growing up as his bullish pushing out of the box was an annoyance – too bad we weren’t able to punch higher then the shoulders
  • Icing and P. Pending, have some weird bromance that I’m uncertain of
  • Chippy, once again pounded the soul out of everyone
  • Kirby, I thin this guys been hurt every since he tripped the first outing
  • Marky Mark, had a strong showing for a guy who comes out once a month
  • Carmen San Diego, not sure exactly where he was the whole time, but I guess the name fits well

Shout out to a new FNG Scott Morales (Pitch Perfect).  He kept right up wit the group the whole time.  He’s an out of towner, but talk of starting F3 up North is always good.  The more guys we get the more we expand!

Appreciate everyone’s support for this Q who will continually bring some new and exciting workouts to the group each time.

Announcements:

  • Golf outing Oct 23rd
  • Santos – Sept 30th
  • Pitch Perfect – playing solo in Stone Crest, P. Pending will be the only one showing up!

Rope-A-Dope @ Fight Club

I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion’.” – Muhammad Ali

Its started out slow for Fight Club as we pondered over many, bumps, bruises and breaks…but when that bell rang at 5:30am all of that was left on the pavement.  A big loop around Foxhole and some necessary shoulder stretches and we got things moving!

Warm Up – Partner Up

200 J/C

100 Hooks

200 U-Cuts

After the heart rate continued to climb and the shoulders were warm, we moseyed to the back of the school yard for a little manly sparring.

4 – 3:00min RD – Close contact sparring, stay within the white box or do burppees

30 Sec LBC’s in between RD’s

Mosey back to the front of the school for a little rope-a-dope.
