The Fishing Hole Crazy 8

5 men showed on a balmy and glorious morning at Charlotte Catholic HS to smack the fartsack back to sleep. Great crew, a bit drowsy and perhaps hungover from the Halloween festivities, but nonetheless ready to get after it.

The Naked Moleskin:

A fairly laidback workout as YHC cannot run, however we ended up moving 1.75M according to my iWatch, so not bad. We did do a bunch of Merkins and some CDD’s instead, so upper body did get challenged a bit.

Chelms tied one on last night but was in good spirits and active. He said the only reason he was there, is because of me. Now that is too sweet!

Cooter finished his radiation therapy on his left leg WooHoo! Let’s continue the prayers for our good friend. He was getting after it in anticipation of upcoming surgery next month, God love him!

Fireman Ed was pushing his 45 pound KB at 5:15 am, strong work brother!

Chopper is Old Faithful and looking strong as well.

My knee is not good, but I will do what I can and thank all my brother for their support.

Until next time men!

Old, but not Dead!

13 Men of Area 51 posted at The Centurion, CCHS to see what a newly minted 55 year old man had to offer.

Warm-O-Rama:

  • SSH’s, 55 of them
  • Cotton Pickers, 55 of them
  • LBC’s, 55 of them

The Thang: All single count and 55 at that…

  • Run to apartment circle, circle up and do 55 merkins, single count
  • Run to pool, lunge walk down parking lot and bear crawl up
  • Run to McMahon Dr and grab a rock: do 55 shoulder presses with rock
  • Run to parking lot circle, oops wall is too high, audible and do 55 dips on curb instead
  • Run back to rock pile and do 55 curls, then do 55 squats with rock, put rock back
  • Run to Panera parking lot: Circle up and do 55 CDD’s and 55 LBC’s
  • Run back to CCHS and go to the parking garage.
  • Up stairs 3x: first time to top do 55 merkins, 2nd time to top do 55 CDD’s and 3rd time to top do 55 LBC’s
  • Run back to parking lot with 7 minutes to spare

Mary:

  • Russian Twist, 28 in cadence
  • Rosalita, 28 in cadence
  • Box cutter- 22 I believe from No-Show
  • LBC’s x 28 in cadence

Mermaid suggested early on to double my age in burpees. That would just be wrong, so I deep six’d that thought. The thought of that did scare off Chelms though. I heard some chatter about all of my 55 counts, but I stuck with the plan. Guess I could have done 28 in cadence throughout, but it slipped my new 55 year old mind at 0530.

As said, the mumblechatter was not something I didn’t really hear this am as I was trying to keep this hardcore group moving. All were strong, Mermaid, Hops, Brilleau, Scabby out up front, Uncle Phil and Uncle Rico, smoking it. Purple Haze keeping us in check, ThunderRoad, Abba, Tagalong and No-Show also providing color and Snuka always keeps me running too, respect my man! Respect to all of you!

Speaking of age, some say it is only a number. Well, it appears to me that 55 is a big number and it has definitely snuck up on me. I honestly only feel 40 and running around with this great group down here is certainly challenging and rewarding. I have made some great friends in the 1 1/2 year that I have been here and I am truly grateful.

7 years strong with F3 and I am grateful to this brotherhood. We treat each and all with mutual respect, regard and honor.
Enjoy your weekend guys!

Know what I mean Vern? The Centurion at CCHS

If my 54 year old memory serves me correct since this BB is 4 days old and delayed..

21 of the finest that Area 51 has to offer showed to put in some work last Friday. Much discussion amongst a few of the regulars were surfacing about Burpees, but YHC was having nothing of that. There were other plans in the form of the Vern.  I offered this up a couple of months ago and seemed to be a real crowd pleaser, so alas, here we go again.

The Thang:

COP- (IC)

SSH x 15

Cotton-Pickers x 15

Russian Hammer x 15

5 Rounds:

-Run 3/4 Mile back to parking lot

-10 CDD’s, run 100 yards

-20 Dips, run 100 yards

Oops, move marker/cooler over to the other road next to parking garage. Nervousness sets in with starting and movement of school buses. Good call as there is more light over there. Duly noted for next time.

-25 Merkins, run 100 yards

-30 LBC’s, run 100 yards

Rinse and repeat 5 x

Run 3/4 Mile and back to parking lot

This one hurts, perpetual motion for 45 minutes straight.

Mary:

No time boys, sorry!

COT and announcements: Continue prayers and support for Jennings Palmer, B0utTime and family.

Moleskin:

Margo says we ran 4 miles total, my calculations put us at 3.75, others beg to differ regardless.

Did 3 of the warm-up IC, just to show pax I can count, kind of…

There was mumble chatter, but spread out amongst the 21 today, most were too busy pushing it to notice though.

Strong work men, pleasure to be in your ranks. Great group of regulars and a few kotters too.

Aye!
