Great weather and no humidity, but Frehley felt it was steamy enough to potentially screw
with Morning After’s bedhead.  It was determined that neither he nor Frehley put much effort
into their grooming today, but we proceeded to put forth a solid effort nonetheless.  Bucky and
I continue to promote the benefits of the effortless #BlueManGroup hair style.

Great to be back on Q at Stonehenge, its been awhile.  The stars really aligned today; back in the parking deck with no security issues, original Qs Dolphin & Haggis in attendance, Seahawk returned to the place of his F3 naming and even brought guests.  Felt like 2013 again.  On that note, nice to have visitors Seahawk, Gandalf, Lemmings, Thrust, and Starbuck on site as they happened to be nearby at The Lodge for the weekend.  Thanks for joining and hope you enjoyed the AO.

Announcements
Isabella Santos 5k next weekend at Corp Park.  Tolkien will have all 4 chariots running.  Stonehenge as usual, break for bagels, then 5k starts over by the bulls at 8am.  Even if you aren’t running, come by to show support for F3 & Speed For Need.  Great way to show the community what F3 is all about.

Komen Race for the Cure is Oct 7, if running join Heather’s Heroes to support F3’s Ice 9 and his M, a breast cancer survivor.  Speed For Need in the house at that one too.

Oct 21, plans in the works for dads/kids camping nearby at Anne Springs Greenway (Lake Haigler)   Follow up on #F3Dads channel on Slack. HC soon so Frasier can make reservation.  Last yr, it was like $10 or $15 so its a very cost effective way to get out, have some good times with the guys, cookout, fire, etc.

Market Timer

Old School circa 2013

The plan for Bagpipe today was pretty basic; I wanted to make sure we had a decent balance of distance and exercises.  If you have seen the Kill22 hashtag making its rounds on social media, it is to bring awareness to the tragic fact that an average day in the US brings another 22 veteran suicides.  You do 22 push-ups, and similar to the Ice Bucket Challenge, nominate others. So in some small way, I wanted to make sure the message was shared and we focused on 22 (and 11 where needed/with partner exercises)

5 burpees OYO
SSH x 22
4 burpees OYO
Merkins x 11

Short mosey to Bull Ring for 2 laps:
Partner up, with stops at each quarter move around the clock

Lap 1
Partner #1 does 11 merkins, partner #2 hold plank until merkins done.
Run together to next stop, flapjack around the ring

Lap 2
Repeat drill but this time with 11 burpees

Head past the bulls to pond/hill:

Set of 11s on the hill with merkins at the bottom and jump squats at the top

Head back with a stop at Brixham Hill tent for 11 of each
LBC, Flutter, Rosalita, Dolly, American Hammer (aka Russian Twist)

Head home

Moleskin:
The hill exercises were a crowd pleaser.  Normally we would have done a set of 7s but with the focus on our 22 theme, 11 was necessary and it lost its luster at round 5.  Doc McStuffins was absolutely tearing it up on the hill.  And poor Bucky partnered with him on the Bull Ring and that was a bad draft pick today, he was motoring.  And even though we stopped just at Bull Ring & pond, that consumed about 35 mins of the morning.  Pretty simple but hopefully effective set up today.

On 2 separate occasions, the standard “Who is leading today?” generating a response of “old school”
when I raised my hand.  Ironically, one reply was Frehley who is both old and old school given we started together in 2013.  And I guess any pax who has been around for more than 2 yrs can be considered old school given our yearbook only goes back 3.5 yrs.

Announcements:
A few Ragnar spots open, reach out to JRR Tolkien

The next Reservation workout will have normal workout, with football game to follow

Timekeeper is reading “Legacy” by James Kerr.  Great read.

F3Dads “Play 60” is cancelled, but some confusion here.  May be an audible to fill the void but as of now there is no F3Dads this weekend.  If this is not correct and I missed something about, sound off below but at this point don’t believe anything on the schedule this Saturday for the kids.

Good weather and small group = good times. With the 5k race going on, we had limited use of
the Corporate Park but made good use of the deck.

Tolkien was going to double down but miscalculated that it would mean leaving the 2.0s solo for
3 hours so he showed up at 6:59am as we wrapped up, ready for the 5k. He hammered out a 19:00 time
and 3rd in age group.

Moleskin:
It was a decently comfortable morning with a much appreciated breeze.  The clock seemed to give us more than 60 minutes today, as every time I looked at my watch it was 10 minutes earlier than I would have guessed.  We covered a lot of ground today.  There was an interesting newcomer at Lake #2….  usually we don’t see  anyone sitting as still as a statue, staring aimlessly at the water at 6:15 on a Saturday. It was a tad odd.  He didn’t seem to even react as we did laps by him.  Anyways, there was no attempt to headlock him. #silentbob

Lex Luthor was hitting it hard on the laps, and was joined by Mighty Mite and Big Dog who were putting in serious work on all the hills.  Wild Turkey doesn’t mess around on the bear crawls.  Chippy took the final lap on the relay as a challenge and turned on the afterburners to bury YHC and Commish after we passed each other at the midway point.  Good work Chipotle.

Strong showing by all today.  Frehley was hurting after he hit the bricks for a few miles yesterday and called out the other runners who decided to take the day off.  Way to push through, FC.

Good to have Gomer Pyle back to Foxhole again; keep coming out.

YHC was up last night with junior from 1:45am to 4am, so I apologize for the somewhat lack of organization.  My bad, but I was operating on very little sleep.  Hopefully everyone still got a good workout.

Big crowd today for what is hopefully the last sub-freezing morning of the season.  The soccer field was miserable with puddles, slush, and frozen hands after all the burpees and merkins.  Gloves, latex or otherwise, were of little help.  Hands were numb after this.  Our FNG had to thaw at for 10 mins at
coffeeteria.  Lots of us had the warm fleece gloves on and that was pointless.
The security officer was on patrol again today so we stayed away from the deck.
Welcome to our FNG Sky Hook – from Haiti, works w Madame, had the Kareem Abdul Jabar goggles….after potential Wyclef, K1 and others, we went with Sky Hook for Kareem, Welcome.
Ok, maybe we miscounted.  I have listened to my recording 3 times and have 26 pax.  If we were truly 27 and I left you out, my bad.  Someone sound off below if you see an omitted name.  But I can’t find 27 on my list…

The Minority Report

The pax count battle at Swift/Bagpipe continues as Bagpipe defections up the Swift totals.  Today, YHC even mistated the Swift count, which was a slip as I heard someone yell out an erroneous number.   Bratwurst quickly corrected my mistake. But if the trends continue, Swift will leave the minority status and become the majority before spring.  We were fortunate today that Madame didnt recruit his buddy Vuvuzela, who posted as a Bagpipe FNG today.
