6:30 and quick introduction to basic theme of the Workout:  Automotive. (I work for an Automotive OEM–FCA, that went through a merger this week–now Stellantis, so The Thang will be
The Warmup:
  • 14 Side Straddle  Hops
  • 14 Low Squats
  • 14 Merkins
Mosey over to entrance of Weddington Middle School and did:
  • 14 Side Straddle Hops
  • 14 Low Squats
  • 14 Merkins
The Thang:
Mosey from the entrance to the backside of Weddington Middle gym.
Find a wall and do the first round of the Dodge Challenger:
  • Hold wall squat and do:
  • 20 Jabs, followed by
  • 20 Air presses.
  • Hold squat for an additional 47 seconds–1 second for every 10 hp in the 470HP Hemi engine in the Dodge Challenger. Felt the bern.
Second round of the Dodge Challenger:
  • 20 Step ups (we chose a close retaining wall as the outdoor tables were iced over)
  • 20 Dips
  • 7 Derkins
  • 47(0) HP Hemi
Mosey around the back of Weddington Middle to the parking lot of Weddington Elementary:
Payload Challenge: Ram 1500
Grab rock:
  • 15 Overhead press
  • 15 Tricep extensions
  • 15 Curls
  • 15 Arm/Shoulder extensions (beginning with both arms at the side, lift arms o be horizontal with with the ground at shoulder height)
Payload Challenge:  Ram 2500
Same rock:
  • 20 Overhead press
  • 20 Tricep extensions
  • 20 Curls
  • 20 Arm/Shoulder extensions
Stay right here and do the:
Hellcat Challenge (3 Hellcat Engine Horsepower ratings: 707, 797 and 807)
Hellcat 707:
  • 7 Squats
  • 1 Burpee
  • 7 Merkins
  • Sprint 40 yards out and 40 yards back
Hellcat 797:
  • 7 Speed Skaters
  • 9 Burpees
  • 7 Lunges
  • Sprint 40 yards out and 40 yards back
Hellcat 807:
  • 8 Burpees
  • 10 Imperial Walkers
  • 7 American Hammers
  • Sprint 40 yards out and 40 yards back
On our Mosey over to the stadium stairs for the Jeep Wrangler Hill Climb Challenge (3 stair runs up and down, each with 3 Freddie Mercury at the top, 3 Bobby Hurleys at the bottom), Blue Screen informed us we could not use the stairs.
Modified the Challenge to:
  • 14 Low Squats
  • 14 LBC
  • 5 Bobby Hurleys
  • Mosey to corner of Weddington Middle Roundabout and do:
  • 14 Low Squats
  • 14 LBC
  • 5 Bobby Hurleys
  • Mosey back to start, repeat 3 times: 2nd round we ran to opposite corner. 3rd round we ran one complete lap around.
Mosey to steep incline behind the Weddington HS Baseball Field
In honor of Bernie Sanders being EVERYWHERE this week, we did the Bernie Sanders 3 times:
run up the hill backwards, then down forwards. Repeat 3 times. We felt the Bern in places the Bern has never been felt before.
Mosey around front entrance to Weddington Middle and back to starting point, and have PAX (Das Boot, Swift, Sheldon, Fruit Loops and Blue Screen) lead us in one round each of an exercise of their choice)
And that’s time!!
Fruit Loops put a lot of good thought into his VQ and the PAX had a good time.  We learned about the history of Maserati, various engine sizes and HP and we got some cadence practice.  Fruit Loops took on the big challenge of his VQ being an hour-long workout and he pulled it off well.
