Downrange to Uptown Funk

After last night’s storm here in Greensboro this morning was super wet and super windy.  Posted downrange in downtown Greensboro.

20 men including 1 FNG showed up outside the library parking deck

DiCCS were given (Disclaimer, Cell phone, CPR, Safety)

Mosey into the library parking deck to the first level

  • Side Straddle Hop x 25 IC
  • 1 burpee

Mosey up the ramps one level

  • Hillbillies x 25 IC (basically a imperial walker but you don’t cross your knee across your body)
  • 2 burpees

Mosey up the ramps one level

  • Jimmy Duggans (called something else) x 20 IC
  • 3 burpees

Mosey up the ramps one level to the top, very windy up here

  • Arc Circles (called something else) x 20 IC, then Moroccan Night Club x 20 IC
  • 4 burpees

Mosey to stairs, down all the levels, down the sidewalk, cross the street in a MARKED pedestrian crosswalk with a car blowing through at full speed after half had crossed to the bottom of some 6 store parking garage with one of those spiral funhouse entrance ranmps.

  • Pair up, size matter (lucky for me 1 was paired with a Clydesdale who apologized in advance)
  • Partner carries up the ramp to the top
  • My partner and I flip flopped every two levels (definitely felt it in the legs)

Mosey down one level.

  • Sprint up the ramp
  • LBCs x 5 IC then down the ramp for 5 Heels to Heaven (called something else, Marge and Homer maybe?
  • Back up the ramp, LBCs x 4 IC then down the ramp for 4 Heels to Heaven
  • Back up the ramp, LBCs x 3 IC then down the ramp for 3 Heels to Heaven

Next Deck Exercise

  • Bear Crawl up the ramp (long way)
  • 20 SSH
  • Craw Bear down the ramp (seemed even longer)

Next Deck Exercise

  • Burpee with a broad jump up the ramp (this one was a smoker)

Mosey down the twisty stairs and back to the start with a circle back for the six

Done!

MOLESKIN:

Great group of guys today.  Everyone was very welcoming and really pushes hard in Greensboro.  They had one FNG who showed up in what looked like business casual attire and a metal water bottle but he made it through.  He’s from Buffalo and was named “Bleu Cheese”

During COT we also used the opportunity to speak about something on our minds.  One pax talked about a friend who took his life last year and how we as men carry lots of weights and need to reach out because others are struggling and can help.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • They are in the process of raising money for a new playground for an underprivileged school in Greensboro and are making great headway, well done pax!
