Ahh, summer is here. And the humidity, and poor Wednesday night eating habits that lead to explosive gas in the AM. Got to OPES a little earlier than usual #Qresponsibility. Had knowledge of Gloss bringing an FNG, low and behold, they were already there yuckin it up with Spack. Spack informed me that he skipped Meathead to come to this dumpster fire #truefriend. Curd came running in shirtless, but had his iPod in his trusty utility belt. Did I hear Asia coming out of there? “Sure as the sun across the sky, this light is over”. Whoa dude, you know how know you’re ….? All other Hydra pax dismounted their whips, and we got after it. Eh hem proper disclaimer given as well for those counting.
Here are the workout details, especially written for those that have no clue why they still get attention.

Asked for the chatter last night, and the Hydra pax never fails to disappoint. I think Sippy Cup and Big Wheel were the only people counting cadence today. Thanks fellas.
One Eye, Sprockets, Curd all ran in. If they were anything other than ultra runners, I would’ve taken it personally.
Sprockets has to be the most “on it” Site Q of all time. Dude hit me up at Hawks Nest with “48 hour warning”, then last night in a text, then this morning asked how I slept. One of my favorite Met At Work songs is titled “Overkill”. That might be a new nickname for our favorite energizer bunny.
Spack challenged me to stay on the practice field to do the first round of grinders, with the same exercises the entire 45 mins to get the pax fired up. We didn’t get through two rounds before Gummy already started asking for more creativity. That weinke would’ve suffered a mutiny faster than it took Capt Jack to take over the Black Pearl.
Deep Dish was using my stall tactics on me when heading to the half pipe. It was like I was having deja vu with myself. Although Deep Dish doesn’t look or sound anything like me. Is that weird? Anyway, it worked for like 30 seconds, then I wised up. #vetmove
The group that accompanied Gloss and me at the half pipe probably regretted their decision. Not sure what Gloss ate last night, but he let one rip, and it entered my personal space. My defense mechanism kicked in like an Iranian missile to his US drone. The hits kept on coming for a couple of rounds, much to the chagrin of Curd who could smell our swamp farts from 20 yards away. His face was classic. Spack was also talking about some new calorie counting app he’s implemented, thinks he plugged in 10 vodkas while playing golf yesterday. 10am – 10pm…only 10 drinks? Seems light to me. Think you better add a few to that app, unless you had Saboo behind the bar makin stiffies, which has been known to happen at CGC.
Ductwork let me know on Tuesday that his management team was lamenting about having their meetings at 5am on Thursday mornings. They switched it to 9am moving forward, so it will be awesome to see DW at future Thursday workouts. That’s a good boss right there.
Marge was crushing the runs as usual, although his feet never seem to get more than 4 inches off the ground. Fastest waddle you’ll ever see, but the man is fast. Clover and Jet Fuel getting in their solid, slightly subdued work as usual too.
Heading into COT, Pop Tart complemented me on the running amounts today (I think?), Hannibal had us at 2.85. Not too shabby for a bootcamp kinda guy. Geraldo was also asking YHC at DV yesterday if we were doing a lot of running today? Not too much G-man, just enough for me to get a good sweat going. Like that matters.
And now to our FNG, Vince Zito. Gloss brought him out, so he was already playing from behind. Had knowledge of his impending attendance this morning from Tuesday, so Gummy and I were already brainstorming on his nickname yesterday at DV. Only knew his name, so we had to get deep. #thatswhatshesaid Thought about Color of Money, and Vince Vaughn stuff, and thought we might land on Van Gogh. Hydra pax brought it this morning, I think it was Sprockets that pulled Motor Boat from Wedding Crashers. “you motor boatin’ son of a bitch, you old sailor you!!” Good stuff, even though I think we already have one somewhere?
Thanks to Jet Fuel for the good take out prayer this morning.
Announcements:
Kevlar converging at Joust tomorrow
Thanks to Gummy and Overkill/Energizer/Sprockets for the chance to lead the Hydra.
