The Intimidator Visits Skunkworks

The Intimidator Visits Skunkworks

YHC arrived at CDS around 5:25 to find a few pax warming up while a few others were getting back from their pre-run (when do you sleep?). The pax kept trickling in and we eventually ended up with 21 for this week’s edition of Skunkworks.

After a quick disclaimer, we circled up for COP:

  • SSH x 20 IC
  • Swings x 20 OYO
  • Prying squats x 5

Partner up by bell size. P1 farmer carries both bells while P2 does 5 burpees and gives chase. CMIYC down to the parking lot next to the church.

The Thang:

P1 runs a loop around the church (~.15 miles) while P2 performs called exercise. When both partners have completed the exercise, plank or Mary until the next round starts. Exercises were:

  1. Swings
  2. Goblet squats
  3. Snatches
  4. Reverse lunges with pass-through
  5. High pulls
  6. Deadlifts (singles or doubles)
  7. Presses (singles or doubles)
  8. Single leg deadlifts
  9. Cleans
  10. Chest press

Time’s up – grab the bells and carry them back to the launch point.

Circle up for Mary:

  • Flutter press x 10 IC
  • Louganis x 6 IC #Qfail
  • Russian twist x 10 IC

Moleskine:

  • For a number of reasons, it’s been too long since YHC has posted at Skunkworks. It was great to see pax that I haven’t met or seen in a while. That’s one of the benefits of mixing up your posts from week to week. I’d encourage all of the pax to get out of their comfort zone a bit. Get up a little earlier and post with the SOBs or on the opposite end of Area 51 or even in Metro (bring your running shoes). YHC is as guilty as anyone of getting into a routine and not venturing out a little more.
  • This workout was adapted from a Q over a year ago at SOFAWIB #RIP. I like it because it allows you to get a little running in (my Garmin had 2.4 miles) with plenty of KB exercises. That’s pretty much the definition of Skunkworks IMHO. I hope the pax enjoyed it as much as I did, despite the fact that it was a bit repetitive.
