4-mile island

It was just One Eye and YHC until 5:30 sharp when High Tide came in on 2 wheels. Quick review of the particulars and off we went.

  • 1 mile AYG to Harris Teeter and back to OP lot
  • Playground by the fields: 10 pullups / 20 incline merkins / 40 Freddy Mercury
  • Concession stand: 20 derkins
  • Football field: 10 burpee broad jumps / backwards run rest of field / AYG back to wooded path
  • run through to Foxworth: up hill to stop sign 30 merkins, back to bottom of hill for 10 hand release burpees
  • back to football field and complete stations back through to playground
  • Repeat until time is called for 1 mile AYG to Harris Teeter (aka the worst mile in sports)

The purpose of WIB is to push yourself for 45 with various pain stations and achieve a bit more mileage than your typical bootcamp.  The goal today was 4 miles and I clocked us at 4.26. One Eye completed 3 full circuits, YHC did as well minus the last 10 HR burpees #veteranmove, and HT was on the Foxworth hill finishing the 3rd set as we circled up and headed for the brutal finishing mile.

One Eye took the lead late in the workout and never looked back. Strong work.  High Tide was a newbie, and despite being a #meathead he did awesome. We were all within sight the full 45.

First mile varied between 6:40 and approximately 7:30. Finishing mile (worst mile in F3) was somewhere between 7:45 and 9 mins.

Great to be with these men today. Aye.

After seeing the plan, I guessed two complete, so good work getting through a full three sets. I meant to mention on the Preblast to watch for spider webs going down the path.

Appreciate you grabbing the Q, Brushback.

We’ll be back at it next week.

That was painful. Still feeling the run, almost 8 hrs later. Someday, perhaps I’ll learn to pace myself better rather than trying (and failing) to keep much faster runners in sight. Still, better than the solo #sadclown run I had originally planned for today. Thanks for the Q, Brushback!
